The nut is suitable for all vehicles built from 1950 onwards, e.g. V1-V5, VNB, VNA, GS150, GS160, Sprint, Rally, GT, GTR, T5, Cosa1, PX, PE etc...
This nut completely replaces the old-fashioned castle nut and thus enables safe and precise work even with a torque wrench. In addition to the precise production, it is also suitable for a tightening torque of over 70Nm due to the use of steel with a hardness of 10 (in our internal tests we were able to load the nut with a tightening torque of 170Nm).
Conventional castellated nuts often give up at 40Nm. With the BGM nut, slipping and damage to the crankshaft/clutch hub due to a loose clutch nut is a thing of the past.
TECHNICAL DATA
NOTE
The nut must not be fitted with an impact wrench. The nut has enormous toughness and tensile strength. However, due to its special design, which is due to the limited space available, it is not suitable for the extremely high load peaks of modern cordless impact wrenches. These not only easily reach twice the guaranteed tightening torque of the nut, but also generate load peaks that can no longer be absorbed by the elasticity of the nut. If the nut is tightened as prescribed using a conventional (manual) torque wrench, it is a very reliable and durable solution. Its large safety reserves far exceed those of the original nut.
Conclusion: No more slipping when loosening/tightening the nut and a bombproof clutch.
