Stefano Benelli's gearbox components have rightfully earned an excellent reputation among Vespa riders. If you're looking for reliable technology for your transmission, this is where you'll find it. Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts strike the ideal balance between sufficient hardness and the necessary elasticity to withstand the extreme loads of a racing engine or a torquey touring engine over the long term.

FUTURE-PROOF
With the Grantour variants, Benelli offers an excellent solution for fast and powerful street engines. Modern engine concepts often achieve more than double the torque of a factory PX200. The Grantour gearboxes therefore use the same high-strength base material and heat treatment as Benelli’s hypersport GPX gearbox components.

100% STABILITY
Together with a clever gear layout, Stefano Benelli ensures exceptional durability of his transmissions. He reduces the number of teeth engaged in nearly all gear pairs, achieving two key results:

  • The tooth root becomes wider and significantly more stable

  • By reducing the number of teeth on both the auxiliary shaft AND the main shaft, the overall gear ratio remains nearly unchanged


GEAR RATIOS
The Grantour gearboxes are available in two versions:

  • Touring (12/55, 13/40, 16/35, 19/33)

  • Sport (12/55, 13/40, 16/37, 19/35)

TOURING
The Touring version’s ratio is nearly identical to that of a PX125. This makes it comparable to a PX200 gearbox with a short fourth gear – a combination that is both proven and popular in terms of range and spacing. In combination with a longer primary reduction (e.g. 24/62), it is perfect for high-torque engines with so-called box exhaust systems. Unlike the usual short fourth gear with 36 teeth (as found on PX125/T5 models), the third and fourth gears from Benelli have three fewer teeth, making them extremely robust. Perfect for Quattrini 244 & co.

SPORT
The Sport version features a significantly shorter third and fourth gear compared to the Touring version. This makes it ideal for high-performance engines with expansion chamber exhausts. With the shorter ratio, a longer primary drive can be used to achieve a good top speed while still maintaining close gear transitions.

AVAILABILITY
The Grantour gearboxes are available as:

  • Small kit: 4 gear wheels + auxiliary shaft

  • Large kit: 4 gear wheels + auxiliary shaft + main shaft + gear spider
