The VMC Racing shift claw is a high-performance shift claw for Vespa Smallframe and Ape 50. Made of chrome-molybdenum steel and designed with elaborate heat treatment for precise shifting and a long service life - even with harder springs and sporty setups.
Material and heat treatment
VMC uses high-quality CrMo steel and carries out advanced processes such as hardening and vacuum hardening to achieve a high and reproducible surface hardness of 56-60 HRC for high wear resistance.
Shift feel: low friction, clean guidance
The inner profile is designed for clean running to reduce friction, which is particularly helpful when riding with a reinforced shift spring.
Precision and protection for the gearbox
Optimized synchronization: corrected shift travel for clean engagement and less risk of idling between gears
CNC chamfers: each driver tooth is precisely chamfered to reduce early wear and protect gears
Long life: designed for high loads on the road and in racing use
Dimension and detection
The shift claw has a length of 50.2 mm and therefore corresponds to the original Piaggio dimensions, making it easier to identify and reducing confusion.

Please match the round design and the dimension (H=50 mm / approx. 50.2 mm length) with your existing gearbox. Different gearshift claws may be installed for mixed setups and different gears.
