Original PIAGGIO (NOS) Black, ribbed Wideframe 1949-1961 OEM 013973 / 13973

Design and look

Black kickstarter rubber with classic ribbing, as fitted ex works on many Wideframe models.
Pleasant hardness and defined kick, well above many simple reproduction parts, which often appear too hard or too brittle.
Due to the original shape, the rubber sits firmly on the kickstarter arm and does not look like a universal accessory part.

Original part from old stock (NOS)

In contrast to reproduced rubbers, this is an original PIAGGIO component from the time of the Wideframe models. It has been stored in a dry place so that the material is not outdated or brittle. The rubber therefore combines the authentic look of an original part with the functionality of a freshly produced spare part.

The kickstarter rubber is designed as a replacement for PIAGGIO OEM numbers 013973 / 13973 and therefore covers a wide range of 125cc and 150cc Wideframe models - including the sporty GS150 series.

Fitting instructions

Carefully remove the old rubber from the kickstarter arm or cut lengthwise with a sharp knife and remove.
Clean the tread and arm, remove rust and dirt if necessary. A little rubber care or soap solution makes it easier to slide on the new rubber.
Push the rubber completely onto the tread until it is flush and can no longer be twisted.

FAQ: Kickstarter rubber PIAGGIO NOS Wideframe

Frequently asked questions

What does NOS mean in this context?
NOS stands for "New Old Stock" - i.e. original parts from old stocks that have never been fitted. This means you get a contemporary original part that can be used like a new spare part.
Isn't the rubber too old and brittle?
The kickstarter rubbers offered here come from well-stored stocks and show no typical signs of ageing such as cracks or brittleness. This makes them ideal for practical use and not just as showcase parts.
What is the difference between the original and reproduction parts?
Original rubbers generally have a more consistent material hardness, cleaner contours and a period-correct color tone. In addition, the shape and corrugation pattern correspond exactly to the equipment with which the scooters were once delivered.
Does the rubber also fit on later Largeframe kickstarter arms?
The kickstarter rubber is primarily designed for Wideframe models. Some later largeframe kickstarter arms differ in cross-section. You should check in advance whether the shape and length match.
Can I shorten or cut the rubber during assembly?
Ideally, the rubber should be slid on at full length. A lengthwise cut can be helpful when removing the old rubber, but this would impair the clamping force and durability of the new part.
This is how we ensure, that reviews come from real consumers.
