Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts provide exactly the right balance between sufficient hardness and the necessary elasticity
to withstand the enormous stresses in a racing engine over the long term.
Benelli offers a reinforced primary kit for Vespa Largeframe engines with wide primary gear (from approx. model year 1965).
This kit offers several special features:
Screwed cover plate = no riveting required!
Clutch gear for PX old-type clutch (6/7 springs) = compatible with Kingwelle or Crimaz CMX clutches
The kit includes the original primary springs of the PX200 models.
For high-performance engines, we recommend reinforced primary springs that can handle the high torque of a modified engine.
Unlike original springs, these no longer go solid.
This means the springs are not completely compressed and always maintain sufficient travel.
This prevents load peaks from being transmitted into the gearbox and protects the components despite increased engine power.
The primary kit is delivered ready to install and features a bolted reinforced cover plate for the primary springs.
The other side is closed, i.e. it has been machined from solid together with the gear.
INSTALLATION NOTE
If the kit is used in a Malossi engine housing (VR-One / V-One),
the area around the seat of the large crankshaft bearing must be slightly relieved.
Otherwise, the primary gear will interfere with the reinforced bearing seat of the Malossi engine housing.
