Gear parts from Stefano Benelli enjoy a well-deserved reputation in the racing scene.
Anyone looking for reliable racing technology for their gearbox will find it here.
Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts offer exactly the right balance of hardness and necessary elasticity
to permanently withstand the enormous stresses in a racing engine.
The auxiliary shaft offered here for Vespa Largeframe engines (e.g. PX, Cosa, Rally) has a sportier gear ratio than the original. The fourth, or even the third gear, is shorter, reducing gear jumps and keeping the engine in the full power band after shifting. This makes it ideal for powerful engines whose speed needs to be maintained at a consistently high level to always deliver full thrust.
The Benelli auxiliary shafts can be used with the original gear wheels of the PX/Cosa125-200 models.
It does not matter whether it is the old gearbox type (cranked cruciform) or the newer gearbox type (flat cruciform).
An additional option is a longer 1st gear with 55 teeth.
This is compatible with all auxiliary shafts with 12 teeth for the first gear on the PX.
This pinion can be used both in an old PX gearbox with cranked cruciform and in the modern Lusso gearbox with flat cruciform type.
This extends the first gear and thus shortens the jump to second gear.
Another option is the use of a 4th gear wheel with 36 teeth.
This is originally used in the 125cc gearboxes and can be combined with the Benelli auxiliary shafts.
Benelli offers three differently geared auxiliary shafts (in bold the values that differ from the original gearbox):
