BENELLI primary kit for Vespa Largeframe with PX clutch

Stefano Benelli’s gearbox parts have rightfully earned an excellent reputation in the racing scene. If you're looking for reliable racing technology for your gearbox, you’ve come to the right place.
Hardened to an average of 60 HRC, Benelli parts offer the ideal balance between sufficient hardness and the necessary elasticity to permanently withstand the immense stress in a racing engine. Benelli offers a reinforced primary kit for Vespa Largeframe engines with wide primary gear (from approx. model year 1965).

This kit comes with several advantages:

  • Screw-on cover plate = no riveting required!

  • Wide range of ratios available = ultra-short (3.25) to ultra-long (2.40)
  • Clutch pinion for early PX clutch type (6/7 springs) = compatible with Kingwelle or Crimaz CMX clutches

The kit includes the original primary springs from PX200 models.

For high-performance engines, we recommend using reinforced primary springs that can handle the high torque of a tuned engine. Unlike the original springs, these no longer bottom out. This means the springs aren’t completely compressed and still offer sufficient travel. As a result, load peaks are no longer transferred to the gearbox, and components are protected even under higher engine power. The primary kit is delivered ready to install and comes with a bolted, reinforced cover plate for the primary springs.
The opposite side is closed – meaning the gear is machined from solid material.

INSTALLATION NOTE
If installing the kit in a Malossi engine casing (VR-One / V-One), a slight clearance must be made at the bearing seat of the large crankshaft bearing.
Otherwise, the primary gear will interfere with the reinforced bearing seat of the Malossi engine housing.
