BGM original crankshaft 57 mm - forged quality for classic Vespa models
Material: BGM crankshafts are forged just like in the good old Piaggio days. During forging, the material is pressed together under high temperature and pressure. This results in a higher density of the material. Heat is dissipated much better. The material is more resistant to warping. This is a huge advantage over other manufacturers' reworked crankshafts, whose materials often do not even reach the level of a standard shaft.
Tuning: The high quality of the material used also allows the use of very light pole wheels without the risk of crankshaft damage. This allows better acceleration behavior to be combined with significantly increased engine durability. This is particularly important on high-displacement and high-speed engines.
Timing angle: The timing angles of this crankshaft correspond to those of a standard shaft.
This makes it equally suitable for the construction of a standard 125cc engine as well as a solid 177cc street tuning.
The precise manufacturing, the material used and the good bearings enable many tens of thousands of kilometers of trouble-free mileage.
Design: Crankshaft with so-called small cone (so-called Sprint engine of the first series). Such shafts can be recognized by the diameter of the shaft sealing ring surface on the alternator side. This is the surface located after the cone but before the bearing seat of the thrust bearing on the crankshaft stub. Identification is even easier via the unusual pole nut with the thread dimension M11x1.50 with collar.
