Clutch plates Fabbri Racing
Fabbri always uses in its clutches the type of lining PK XL2, but this in different versions.
Road: Organic XL2 with steel discs (FR0257)
Road/Race: Carbon XL2 with steel discs (FR0258).
Race: Carbon XL2 with aluminum discs (FR0009)
Compared to conventional (organic) pads, carbon pads require a significantly higher contact pressure to prevent them from slipping. Therefore they are always used with reinforced springs. In return, however, they can withstand very high temperatures without losing their friction properties. To further increase friction, the sets are also available with washers made of Ergal (duralumin), a very tough and strong aluminum alloy. However, this pairing is expressly recommended only for racing and the short maintenance intervals usual there. For everyday/road use, the versions with steel discs are preferable.
NOTE: The friction discs (steel and aluminum) are also the same dimensions as those of the XL2 models, but are modified for use in the Fabbri clutches (inner edge that engages the clutch spider is offset).
