Two technical versions were used within this Vespa model series. To make the right choice, it is therefore not only the model that counts, but above all the technology installed on the vehicle.
MUFFE: early models approx. 1964 to 1976. The sleeve is inserted into the tube, the fastening pin sits on the outside under the handlebars.
ROLLER: late models approx. 1976 to 1983. The roller is pushed onto the tube from the outside, the fastening pin sits on the inside at the end of the tube.

The shift tube takes over the rotary movement of the left handle and transmits it to the shift mechanism. A worn, run-in or bent tube quickly leads to play in the handle, imprecise shifting or sluggish operation. A new tube creates a clean and stable basis again.

For vehicles with handlebar end indicators, the installed version should be checked particularly carefully. Particularly in the case of restored or converted scooters, the year of manufacture, handlebars and grip tubes do not always match the original delivery condition. Custom reproductions for this version are generally no longer available.
