The Malossi Vespower is now also available for the older Vespa Largeframe models (up to approx. 1977) with small crankshaft stubs (recognizable by the pole wheel nut with M11 thread and wrench size 14). These models have a contact ignition which is often in poor maintenance condition. If you don't dare to overhaul the original (high quality) ignition or generally want to upgrade to a 12Volt electrical system and an electronic ignition, you can use the Malossi VesPower in addition to the BGM ignition. Its dynamic ignition timing is not necessary on most engines and often even counterproductive on touring engines, which is why BGM also offers a CDI with static (fixed) ignition timing.
Malossi encloses a cable branch for the wiring with the original wiring harness of the Vespa GL150 (VLA1T) to this set. However, there are a few variations of wiring harnesses on this model alone. If the ignition is to be used on a model whose cable colours on the engine cable box differ from those in the Malossian cable (orange, grey, red, white, yellow) we generally recommend the additional use of our conversion wiring harness (item no.: 9077011UVT , see also accessories).
The conversion wiring harness (for the gesmate vehicle) is basically always recommended if a completely smooth function of the vehicle's electrical system is to be ensured. Often the old wiring harnesses are prone to faults due to cable breaks. The BGM PRO Converson harness offers the advantage of very simple wiring and absolute operational reliability.
