The fully electronic BGM Pro conversion ignition offers a strong spark, bright light and reliable starting in all weathers. The set is a complete replacement for the old (contact-controlled) ignition system including self-regulating 6 volt alternator.

for crankshafts with small cone (Lima oil seal Ø19mm)
IGNITION BASE PLATE AND POLAR WHEEL
The scope of delivery of the set includes a powerful, maintenance-free electronic ignition system together with a powerful 12Volt alternator including a modern BGM Pro voltage regulator. The BGM PRO Vespa PK125 pole wheel is adapted for use in smallframe engines with a small crankshaft stub.
CDI (IGNITION COIL)
The thyristor-controlled high-performance CDI (high-voltage capacitor ignition) generates a very stable and powerful ignition spark with up to 40,000 volts. This guarantees easy and reliable starting at all times, even in the most adverse weather conditions and/or at low starting speeds. The contactless ignition guarantees perfect combustion of the mixture even at the highest engine speeds; the notorious contact flutter is history with this set.
PERFORMANCE
The weight-optimized pole wheel noticeably improves performance and acceleration without compromising the durability of the engine.
RELIABILITY
The BGM Pro conversion kit is based on technology developed by Piaggio. This is extremely robust and is still the first choice for all touring riders, globetrotters and mileage guzzlers. BGM has further refined this technology and is now also making it available for older vehicles with this set. Once installed, you never have to worry about it again.
LIGHT
Thanks to the series-connected light coils, the alternator generates a high voltage even at low engine speeds, guaranteeing good illumination and visibility. As the engine speed increases, the voltage is limited to a maximum of 14.2 volts by the included BGM Pro voltage regulator. Compared to the original old alternator, this ensures excellent light output from idle speed without having to worry about the bulbs burning out at high engine speeds.
BATTERY
The BGM Pro voltage regulator also offers a regulated DC (max. 14.3V direct current) output. This can be used to charge a battery and/or tap the current for a USB charging socket, for example (cell phone, sat nav, etc.).
Notes: The DC current can only be measured correctly with a connected load. The DC output is always prioritized: If a large load is drawn from the DC output, this is no longer available to the AC output.
WIRING HARM
Technically, it is (theoretically) possible in many cases to continue using the old wiring harness (with modifications). However, this requires some knowledge of electrical engineering, as the original wiring harness is often designed as a so-called short-circuit electrical system and its switches are therefore designed as normally closed contacts. In addition, the new alternator only has one current-carrying cable, which leads to the voltage regulator. The entire vehicle electrical system is supplied from there. The old original alternator, on the other hand, has individual coils for different supply areas.
We therefore recommend replacing the original wiring harness, which is usually dilapidated and oxidized due to its age, with our new and perfectly fitting conversion wiring harness. A matching light switch is already included (see also 'Accessories') and makes the conversion to modern on-board electronics much easier.
FITTING
Fits all Vespa Smallframe models that still have the small crankshaft cone (recognizable by the diameter of the crankshaft stub with Ø19mm on the running surface of the shaft seal. As a rule, the pole wheel nut has an M10 thread). Suitable for V50, 50N, SS50, SS90, V90, 90 Racer, V100, PV125, ET3, PK50 S, PK80 S, PK100 S, PK110 S.
Not plug-and-play suitable for V50 of the first series (V5A1T/V5SA1T, with small engine cover, years of construction up to approx. 1965). A spacer for the fan wheel cover is required here (see accessories).
CONCLUSION: The BGM Pro conversion ignition makes the scooter more agile, more reliable and safer overall. A sensible and value-enhancing
NOTE: The original fan cover only fits with a spacer between the cover and engine housing (see accessories). Alternatively, the fan wheel cover of the Vespa PK models can be used.
