CIF primary sprocket with 65 teeth for the Vespa PX200 and Rally200. The helical-tooth design corresponds to the original gear ratio configuration and is suitable as a replacement for a worn or damaged primary sprocket. When combined with the standard 23-tooth clutch pinion, this results in the classic primary gear ratio of 23/65 = 2.83.
The CIF primary sprocket with 65 teeth is designed for the helical-toothed primary drive of the Vespa PX200 and Rally200. It serves as a replacement for a worn or damaged original primary sprocket and can be combined with a helical-toothed clutch pinion compatible with the 65-tooth primary sprocket.
The classic combination for the PX200 and Rally200 uses a 23-tooth clutch pinion with the 65-tooth primary sprocket. This results in a primary gear ratio of 23/65, or 2.83. Thus, the primary sprocket corresponds to the stock gear ratio configuration of these 200-cm³ large-frame engines.
The large primary sprocket is part of the spring-loaded primary drive on the auxiliary shaft. During an engine or transmission overhaul, the sprocket should be inspected for wear, damaged tooth flanks, and excessive play.
If the primary sprocket is replaced, it is recommended to simultaneously inspect the condition of the primary springs, cover plates, and mounting hardware. This allows the entire primary drive to be properly overhauled in a single operation.
Note: The primary sprocket has helical teeth. The clutch pinion used must match the 65-tooth primary sprocket in terms of tooth count and tooth profile. The corresponding 65-tooth version is used on the PX200 and Rally200.
