The disadvantage is the great effort to lay everything neatly and cleanly and to store the sensitive resistor break-proof, also you are mostly forced to cut the original wiring harness which in case of a possible retrofit will cause new work. Also the resistors can become relatively hot and also they load the vehicle power supply unnecessarily, the LED indicators have the advantage that they need very little current. This is simply connected instead of the original and the correct clocking required by law is restored.

Some plugs assembled by the vehicle manufacturer may have a different assignment.
To avoid destroying the relay through incorrect connection, it should be ensured before installation which of the cables is live. This can be checked with a test lamp or an old flasher. To check which cable is running for further distribution (flasher switch), a cable bridge can also be created between the live cable and the cable in question. Then, after actuating the flasher switch, the flashers should light up permanently.
