This auxiliary shaft belongs to the higher-quality EGIG PERFORMANCE series and is therefore positioned above the S/R street/road line. While the S/R version is intended for street engines suitable for everyday use, this version is aimed at more powerful smallframe setups with higher loads in the transmission. The recommended application range is for engines up to approx. 180 cc and 35 hp
The version described here is the Poligon version. The thread of the auxiliary shaft is M10x1.0. As a differentiation: The cone version uses M12x1.25. Cone and Poligon components must always be selected to match the rest of the primary drive, the fastening and the nut used. A mixture of both systems is not intended.
? The Poligon connection transmits the torque positively via several contact surfaces of the polygonal contour. As a result, the load is distributed more widely than with connections that are subject to high point loads. This type of power transmission is an important advantage, especially for powerful smallframe engines with hard load changes, because the auxiliary shaft, primary drive and mounting must work together mechanically.
The EGIG PERFORMANCE auxiliary shaft is available in three gradations. The choice of gradation determines how narrow or long the upper gears are. This is particularly relevant for smallframe engines with resonance exhaust, larger displacement and sporty primary ratios.
| Gradation | Character |
|---|---|
| 10-14-17-20 | Narrower gradation with shorter third gear, useful for sporty setups with precise gear connection |
| 10-14-18-20 | Balanced gradation with short fourth gear for powerful road and sports engines |
| 10-14-18-21 | Longer fourth gear for engines with sufficient torque and suitable overall ratio |
The auxiliary shaft can be combined with the original Vespa Smallframe transmission 58-54-50-46. This means that the setup remains manageable for many transmission concepts as long as the gears, shift claw, main shaft, spacing and primary drive match the selected setup. Tooth flanks, claw windows and running marks should be carefully checked on used gears.
Gear wheels, nuts, locking parts, shift claw, spacers or other mounting accessories should only be regarded as included if they are listed separately in the specific item scope of delivery.

The EGIG PERFORMANCE Poligon auxiliary shaft is the right choice for more powerful Vespa Smallframe engines where an original SF 58-54-50-46 gearbox is to be combined with a more resilient auxiliary shaft. The Poligon version with M10x1.0 thread relies on positive power transmission and is suitable for engines up to approx. 180 cc and 35 hp. With three available gear ratios, the gear connection can be specifically adapted to the respective setup.
