Every Vespa tells a story. And every ride leaves its mark - on the roads, in our memories and, of course, on our vehicles. Anyone who loves their Vespa knows that it is more than just a scooter, it is a way of life. But for this feeling to remain safe and reliable, the technology has to keep pace. This is exactly where the bgm PRO Superstrong rim comes in.
The Vespa scene has changed. Today, setups that achieve performance and speeds previously only known from motorcycles are being ridden. Anyone who has ever ridden a PX or Rally with 25 hp or more knows how important riding stability, safety and reliable components have become.
Our idea: a rim that perfectly matches the look of the classic Vespa, but technically masters all the challenges of today. Tubeless, TÜV-approved and designed so that tire fitting is no longer a game of patience.
During development, we asked ourselves: Why is mounting tires on tubeless rims often so tedious? The answer lies in the rim bed. Conventional rims offer hardly any space for the tire to move into the drop center during mounting. The result: sweat, curses and the impression that the tire "doesn't want to".
The solution is called 5-bulge design. Five small indentations, inconspicuous to the eye, but with a big effect: they create space so that the tire slips more easily into the rim well. This makes mounting much more relaxed - and the rim even more stable at the same time.
Of course, a clever idea is not enough. We wanted to be sure that the new design could withstand even the toughest loads. So we repeatedly tested and improved the Superstrong rim in simulations using FEM analyses during the course of development.
And subjected it to the real load tests required for approval by the TÜV.
Crash test scenario: a fully loaded scooter hits a kerb at 50 km/h.

The result? The Superstrong has passed all tests - the bulge design dissipates forces better than conventional designs and thus ensures even greater safety.
Despite all the technology, one thing was important to us: the rim should retain the character of the Vespa. That's why we deliberately based the shape on the original. The rim flange picks up on the classic contour, the bulges disappear discreetly on the back. This gives the rim an authentic look - as if it had always been on your Vespa

The Superstrong rim is manufactured in a complex mold. Manufactured in low-pressure casting from A356 aluminum, it combines low weight with high stability. A subsequent T6 heat treatment further increases the fatigue strength.

Precise CNC machining ensures perfect concentricity and an exact fit - a detail that is immediately noticeable when riding.
Theory and tests are good - but what counts is practice. That's why we tested the Superstrong rim over thousands of kilometers in everyday use and on the race track. Whether on salt-wet winter roads or in the hot asphalt summer: the feedback from the scene was clearly positive. Tires were easier to mount, stability was noticeably higher, and the rim remained stable even after many tire changes.
