This OEM brake drum or front wheel hub in LML Classic Grimeca style is the perfect basis for anyone who wants to convert their LML disc brake to a closed drum look. Instead of the typical star shape, the front now has the classic large-frame look without changing the LML disc brake technology. The hub fits LML Star/Stella forks and Vespa PX Lusso forks from around 1983 with a 20 millimeter axle diameter.

Many LML Star/Stella models were supplied as standard with an open brake drum in a star design. Technically, this solution works well, but visually it does not suit every conversion concept. The brake drum offered here brings the closed classic look back to the front wheel and is based on the well-known Grimeca look of classic PX and Largeframe conversions.
If you already ride an LML disc brake with a star drum, you can switch to a more classic look with this hub without having to fundamentally change the locator points, fork or disc brake. The brake rotor and caliper remain in the LML layout, making the overall look much more coherent.
Mounting and compatibility
Designed for LML Star/Stella forks and PX Lusso forks with 20 millimeter axle diameter (from around 1983).
With LML brake caliper mount - the caliper is mounted on the typical LML bracket, not on Piaggio/Grimeca adapters.
Typical application vehicles are LML Star/Stella models and Vespa PX80, PX125, PX150 and PX200 Lusso from around 1984 with disc brake and 20 millimeter axle.
The delivery condition corresponds to the surface of the original LML forks and hubs. As with these, there may be slight traces of storage or transportation in the paint from the factory. This is not a repainted show hub, but a function-oriented OEM component.
Note on LML specific components
LML uses its own combination of speedometer spiral, bushing and mounting parts for the disc brake hubs. These differ in design from Piaggio or Grimeca parts. This means that
Piaggio or Grimeca speedometer snails, bushes and brake calliper mounts cannot be combined directly with this LML hub.
For a problem-free setup, the LML-specific components (speedo cable, bushing, brake caliper mount) should be used or the setup should be completely designed to LML standard.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the hub as a replacement for an LML Stern brake drum?
Yes. The hub is designed exactly for this case: existing LML disc brake technology remains, the open star look is replaced by a closed Classic drum look.
Does the hub fit a PX fork with a 16 millimeter axle?
No. The hub is designed for forks with a 20 millimeter axle diameter, as used on PX Lusso and LML Star/Stella. Older PX forks with a 16 millimeter axle are not compatible without conversion.
Can I combine Piaggio Grimeca components with this hub?
LML uses its own system consisting of a speedometer cable, bushing and mountings. Piaggio and Grimeca parts have a different design and cannot simply be mixed. For a clean build, the entire front end should be matched to a uniform system.
Why can paint irregularities be present?
The delivery condition corresponds to original LML fork parts. There may be slight marks in the paintwork at the factory and during transportation. These do not affect the function and are normal for LML OEM parts.
Is the hub also suitable for pure drum brakes?
The hub is explicitly designed as a front wheel hub for the LML disc brake with integrated brake caliper mount. It is not intended for pure drum brake forks without disc brakes.
