The original 80 cc engine produces about 5 hp at the rear wheel. With our conversion cylinder, power increases to an impressive 7-8 hp with extreme reliability. The cylinder’s performance is comparable to a 135 DR. The attached diagram shows a direct comparison between a stock PX80 with stock exhaust (red curve) and the SCK 125 cc conversion cylinder also with stock exhaust (red curve). With a better exhaust (BGM Big Box Touring, Polini Box), the cylinder delivers about 1-2 hp more.
With a longer gear ratio (achieved by simply changing the clutch gear to 22 teeth), top speed is significantly increased. Thanks to the broader torque curve, gears no longer need to be fully revved out and consumption decreases. Two vehicles equipped with SCK conversion cylinder prototypes covered several thousand kilometres problem-free in 2011. The riders were delighted with the performance and low consumption.
Tip:
You can measure the squish clearance (distance between piston crown and combustion chamber at the outer edge) using thin solder wire.
The value can easily be reduced to 0.6 mm to improve torque and performance.
If the value is 1.0 mm, two of the three gaskets can be removed to reduce the clearance by about 0.4 mm.
Adjust jetting again if necessary.
Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to deliver this cylinder with a TÜV certificate.
The technical and formal requirements for such certification are now so high that it is no longer economically viable (the price would be far too high).
Please arrange individual approval with TÜV.
NOTE: The cylinder fits Elestart engine cases without modification!
