Anyone who is active in the classic Vespa scene will sooner or later stumble across DEXTER Racing - and get stuck. Not because of big words, but because of parts that deliver on the track and in everyday life. Behind the name is Luca Moscon from Mezzolombardo in Trentino: engineer, developer, manufacturer and driver all in one. He does not build off-the-peg tuning products in his workshop. DEXTER produces heavy-duty racing components - developed on the test bench and verified on the track. And they do so with a bang: at the 24-hour endurance race in Whilton Mill in June 2025, Luca not only left the competition behind, but also set the benchmark.
At Luca, the CNC spindles are whirring, it smells of lubricant and fresh aluminum chip dust, the test benches are running hot. The machine park is impressively broad for a one-man manufactory - which is precisely the reason for the vertical range of manufacture that is rare today: from the raw part to the ready-to-use component, almost everything is in-house.
The special thing about it: Luca doesn't just develop - he translates his ideas directly into professional production. His moving prototype is basically no longer a Vespa, but a rolling DEXTER feasibility study. Frame, engine housing, cylinder, crankshaft, gearbox, exhaust, chassis, brake system - all designed and manufactured in-house. What is convincing on paper has to go through the toughest selection process at Luca: Racing.
Many DEXTER parts come directly from the "Vespa Proto" project, where they were tested under extreme conditions. The result: uncompromisingly function-oriented components. A few highlights:
In short, it's almost impossible to list everything that Luca designs, manufactures and tests himself in the toughest racing conditions. Sometimes we wonder whether he has a few clones in his secret laboratory - in theory, of course.
From the lab to the track: Luca is extremely successful on European racetracks. There was a very strong overall victory at Whilton Mill in June 2025 - and his driver Ahron also entered the track record in the list: 54.9 seconds, set on lap 377. If a material is still setting records after so many race laps, it's clear that this stuff is not only fast, but also reliable under gruelling conditions.
DEXTER boss Luca visited us at the Open Day. Fresh from the Pomposa race track, after around 500 kilometers in his wrist, he heaved his - quote - "unwashed" racing scooter directly onto our test bench. You can see the result in the video. At this point, the scooter had not only already completed the 24-hour race in England unscathed, it had also completed a full 7-hour race in Pomposa, also without any failures! The fact that the Proto, even though it revs up to 12000 rpm continuously and is air-cooled (as it should be), still delivers plenty of power on our new test bench was also quite impressive.
We have had an extremely good relationship with Luca and his team for years. Short lines of communication, clear words, quick solutions - that makes partnership fun. And best of all: you can get the parts directly from us.

In addition to Vespa technology, Luca's heart also beats for APE tricycles. He competes successfully in Italian championships. A story of its own - which we will be happy to tell you soon.
If you've been wondering where the name comes from: friends named Luca "Dexter" early on - based on Dexter's lab, the cult series from the 1990s. A highly intelligent inventor with a secret laboratory in his parents' house? When it comes to Vespa technology, Luca has come surprisingly close to his namesake: lots of brains, lots of lab work - and in the end, parts that simply work. DEXTER Racing.
Manufactured in Lucas workshop. Tested on the race track. And yes - it's addictive.
Write to us - we know the DEXTER parts from practical experience and will be happy to advise you.
