The name says it all: the EGIG Unisex covers a wide range of Vespa smallframe setups and fits all standard frames without cutting or welding work. The focus is on high torque applied as early as possible instead of peak power. This makes the exhaust ideal for powerful street engines, touring vehicles and high-torque setups for everyday use.
On the EGIG170 cylinder, maximum power is already available at around 7000 rpm, with smaller displacements around 500 rpm later. The exhaust continuously builds up pressure even from low engine speeds and thus supports shiftless driving, good elasticity and a wide usable engine speed range.
Special feature of this version: The resonance body is made of 1.5 mm thick sheet steel. Compared to the 0.9 mm sheet metal normally used in exhaust construction, the system is significantly more solid. This provides more stability in hard use and reduces the typical clanking of sheet metal, which is noticeable in a quieter, less intrusive noise pattern.
Despite the greater material thickness, the production process remains classic: the sheet metal is formed by hand on a winding machine. Due to the almost double thickness of the sheet metal, the time and effort required for production are significantly higher, but the result is a robust exhaust for powerful smallframe engines, which is also prepared for continuous mechanics and poor roads.
The EGIG Unisex is designed for smallframe engines between 125 and 170 cc. Its characteristics with early, evenly increasing torque simplify carburetor tuning and make the setup less sensitive to weather and altitude differences. Thanks to the homogeneous pressure curve, the engine reacts well to changes in jetting and ignition timing, which is particularly interesting for everyday and touring vehicles.
The exhaust is designed so that it can be fitted to Vespa V50, PV, Primavera, ET3, PK S, PK XL, PK XL2 and PK HP without any frame modifications. The installation position is suitable for everyday use, the luggage compartment remains usable and the exhaust pipe blends unobtrusively into the vehicle. The design as a smallframe road system makes it a suitable addition for numerous 125-170 cc engine concepts.
The exhaust material is steel, unpainted. A heat-resistant paint finish or a galvanic or ceramic coating is recommended for long-lasting corrosion protection. Careful pre-treatment of the surface is particularly worthwhile for vehicles that are moved all year round.
