From factory to history: a new life for the ACMA Vespa Factory

A united statement for Vespa history

In Fourchambault, a 260-metre-long façade has just been brought to life. The walls of the former factory of ACMA, the leading French manufacturer of Vespas, have been transformed into a unique historical mural. Manuel Houssais meets David Nadjar, Historical Register Officer of the Vespa Club de France. We are very proud to have been able to contribute to the realization of this project with a donation. Delphine, President of VC France, dedicates a few emotional words to this great event.

A unique Vespa mural for Fourchambault

It is with great pride that this Saturday, October 11, we are opening a magnificent commemorative trail that is attracting a great deal of interest and enthusiasm.

For many years, the VCF has been concerned about the future of this industrial heritage site and its buildings - today we are taking a big step forward. This project is a collaborative effort, driven by the energy of individuals, clubs and public and private stakeholders. We asked for support to finance a project that we could not have achieved on our own. After only nine months of campaigning, we are now standing in front of this fantastic mural. We are very grateful to our partners for the trust they have placed in us - this is a real boost.

Thanks to all of you, we can tell a story: that of the largest employer in the Nièvre department (with up to 2,600 employees producing a total of 360,000 scooters, 30,000 cars and 5,000 tricycles).

Community project to preserve French Vespa history

Thanks to you, we can take care of 120-year-old buildings that still bear witness to this past.

Thanks to David Nadjar, historian and scenographer of the exhibition: "finding the way, arousing interest, finding the impulse to breathe life into these buildings - this is the first building block for a project of a new life around the Vespa".

It warmed our hearts to see the presence of a diverse audience - clubs and enthusiasts, some of whom traveled from far away, some from Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and from all four corners of France - who did us the honor of participating in this day of celebration.

Finally, with great emotion, we paid a moving tribute to the great witnesses of this past: the ACMA alumni gathered today, but also Giovanna Biasci, daughter of Enolo Biasci, then Technical Director of the ACMA (a name that counts in the history of the town and the partnership: "I grew up in Fourchambault and left my heart there. I thank you and I love you", Giovanna Biasci).

Thanks to the volunteers of the Vespa Club Fourchambault, the guardians of this past, who contributed greatly to the success of this day. Thanks to the many other volunteers who, through their commitment, give us the strength to act (it is impossible to name them all). These moments are precious for the memory - this day will remain unforgettable. The story continues, let's stay focused.
