Hard primary springs for EGIG Performance primary baskets and powerful smallframe setups from around 30 hp.
The hard EGIG PERFORMANCE primary springs are designed for smallframe engines with significantly increased power. From around 30 hp, torque, load changes and shocks in the primary drive increase noticeably. Reinforced springs help to adjust the damping in the primary cage to this load and reduce uncontrolled working of the springs. The kit contains 4 hard primary springs and is suitable for heavily built Vespa Smallframe and Ape 50 engines with matching primary cage.

Why harder primary springs?

The springs in the primary basket dampen load changes between the crankshaft drive, clutch and gearbox. Softer spring settings are usually sufficient for close-to-production engines. With heavily tuned smallframe engines from around 30 hp, however, significantly higher forces act on the primary drive. Here, hard primary springs can help to make the suspension in the basket more resilient and allow the drive to work in a more controlled manner under high loads.

For powerful smallframe setups from around 30 hp

The spring kit is intended for engines where a standard primary basket no longer matches the load. Typical areas of application are high-torque cylinders, high resonance exhaust systems, sporty transmission setups and setups that are regularly subjected to high loads in everyday use or on the road. The springs do not replace a test of the entire primary drive: basket, repkit, pads, clutch, sprocket and bearings must match the performance level.
