EGIG 220 ccm Cylinder Kit for Vespa PV, ET3 and PK – Touring or Racing

EGIG High Performance cylinder kit - modular, powerful & versatile

Developed for ambitious tuners and touring riders alike: The new EGIG cylinder combines maximum flexibility with uncompromising performance - whether on the road or the race track.

Technical highlights

  • 68 mm Wössner forged piston
  • Aluminum cylinder with heavy-duty Nikasil coating
  • Suitable for M200 and EGIG 250/300 stud bolt hole pattern (8-fold)
  • Exhaust hole pattern: 65 mm (identical to M200) with additional central M8 fastening thread
  • Stroke / connecting rod combinations:
    • 56.5 mm stroke / 116 mm connecting rod = 205 ccm
    • 58 mm stroke / 117 mm connecting rod = 210 ccm
    • 60 mm stroke / 117 mm connecting rod = 220 ccm
(Note: For deviating connecting rod lengths, a spacer may be required or the cylinder base must be turned off).
  • Thread for Koso temperature probe in cylinder head: M4.5
  • Suitable for PX125 cylinder cover (fixing points & dimensions)
  • Compression ratio with crushing edge 1.2-1.3 mm: approx. 12.5:1
  • Choice of one-piece or three-piece exhaust
  • 8-flap diaphragm block from Italkit
  • Intake manifold: 30 mm or 34 mm, precisely fitting the original frame hole
  • Central plug for optimum combustion
  • 2 centering pins on the cylinder base (can only be used with EGIG/Fabbri housing)

Application range & philosophy

The cylinder can be used in a wide variety of configurations - whether as a sporty touring cylinder or a performance-oriented racing cylinder. It was deliberately designed to cover as many requirements as possible. Whether touring rider or long-distance racer: this project offers the right setup for everyone.

Cylinder layout & timing

A balanced compromise between racing and road cylinders:

  • Timing (depending on stroke):
    • Intake: 127°-129°
    • Exhaust: 183°-186°
  • Rule of thumb: The higher the stroke, the lower the advance.

Exhaust variants in comparison

One-piece exhaust

  • Power: up to 35 hp / 35 Nm
  • Early onset of power, very linear power delivery
  • Insensitive to weather or altitude
  • Carburetor tuning much easier
  • Ideal for touring and everyday use
  • Disadvantage: approx. 3-4 hp and 500 rpm speed range less compared to the three-part version
  • Usually superior up to 7,500 rpm

Three-piece exhaust

  • Power: up to 40 hp / 35 Nm
  • Higher rev range, but less torque at low revs
  • Power delivery more brutal and delayed
  • Carburettor tuning more complex, higher risk of pre-resonance holes
(but well balanced by clever layout, reed valve block and timing on the EGIG cylinder)
