Welcome, scooter enthusiasts!
Our trip to Malaysia was simply beyond words! From high-speed highway rides to culinary adventures on the “Old Roads” to an amazing meetup in Penang—the Malaysian scooter scene completely blew us away.
Upon arriving in vibrant Kuala Lumpur, we jumped at the chance to finally meet many of our amazing dealers and longtime friends in person. In upcoming blog posts, we’ll introduce each and every one of them to you in detail, but for now, here’s a huge thank you and shout-out to the crews at:
AL Tuning Garage: Masters of Lambretta and Vespa customizations, who welcomed us on our very first day with the KL Lambrettistas and showed us around this impressive city with its many bridges and highways.
Scootpedia: Over a wonderful dinner, we exchanged great ideas for future collaboration.
Naim Tuah Vespa Parts: We were absolutely thrilled by his massive parts inventory and the incredibly interesting feedback he gave us.
Shark Vescooter Shop: The man with a nose for real treasures, who showed us rare Vespa models and original parts that only he can track down.
Vespa Planet: The major and leading dealers for the modern Vespa segment in Kuala Lumpur.
Wan Scooter Shop: We were extremely impressed by his work on small-frame models, as these are a true rarity in Malaysia.
One thing became clear to us right away: The scooter scene in Malaysia is extremely focused on high performance—something Maryza had already noticed during her visit to Langkawi with the Gastropod Island Club ! Here, heavily modified engines reign supreme. The highways regularly turn into test tracks for extremely high-performance machines with massive displacement. That’s enough to make any tuner’s heart race!
To take in a bit more of Malaysia’s beautiful landscape and nature, we decided to skip the monotonous highway and take the legendary “Old Road” instead. And what a decision that was! Many thanks to Roland, Roman, and Waiding for this amazing trip
Our strategic stop was in Lumut, where we met the fantastic guys from Right Machine Cartel —a workshop and a club full of true enthusiasts. Not only did they proudly show us around their town, but they also introduced us to the delicious local cuisine. Thanks for the legendary hospitality!
We finally arrived in Penang on Friday. A huge thank you goes out to Rafa and the entire MBGorganizing team: Our booth was already perfectly set up and ready to go! As is our tradition, our booth was meant to be the meeting place for the true “Real Scooterists” of the scene.
Special guests at the booth: Who better to represent this culture than the guys from Twin Scooter in Thailand? They used their space at our booth to celebrate the premiere of their independently designed products. These guys aren’t just super funny and likable—they’re true geniuses when it comes to top speed and design!⚡
A special highlight of the event was the exclusive limited-edition MBG + Scooter Center T-shirt, designed specifically for the lucky draw. ✨
Although Modern Lambretta Malaysia was the official main sponsor of the event, a very special subculture stole the show: the fascinating Vespa Kleppet! We’ll be dedicating a special blog post to this unique Malaysian customizing culture very soon—so stay tuned!
On Saturday, we set out on our island ride in extreme tropical heat—a ride we’ll remember for a long time to come!
Together with Cap Ayam Parts , we also organized a big merchandise giveaway at their booth. A huge thank you to Hazim for his unconditional support!
The dyno test was also a great experience: Unlike back home in Germany, it’s not just the raw horsepower that counts here, but above all the top speed (V-Max)!
And the impressive combination of style and performance was more than evident at the Show & Shine exhibition
Accompanied by fantastic live music on all three days of the event, it was an all-around resounding success.
