My adventures are not just about Vespas, but this time about their little sister: mopeds. In a spontaneous plan, I accompanied some members of the Scooter Center technical team: Marc, Frank and Roland would test their Ciaos at Iron Mofa's Mofa Fest 2022. Platonika would stay parked, because I had to ride in a real vehicle! And I couldn't get a better back seat than in the tandem from the Flatliners guys! Not knowing what to expect, I set up cameras and we started an adventure that turned out to be much more fun than I had imagined. It was funny to see so many "bad boys" in these little vehicles, but above all, as always, to meet wonderful people full of good humor.
Ciao Tandem: The reason for the construction of this tandem is something special, as are its components, which have managed to create this rarity thanks to Scooter Center! The tandem is powered by a Polini Speedengine with a DR Evo cylinder cylinder. Further tuning measures include a 13/13 carburetor with a SIL Tech Venturi and a Malossi air filter installed. The exhaust fumes are filtered through a Gianeli OriPower exhaust. The suspension was upgraded with shock absorber mounts from MMW and the bgmProF16 shock absorbers shock absorbers. Due to the increased load on the axles, the normal front axle mounting was replaced by an MC Proparts front axle kit + Bushing set
But it wouldn't be the only special feature I would see at this meeting: The motor on this Ciao came from a cut-off grinder for railroad tracks.
