There are only two original ignition systems for the Lambretta lui and Junior series: A 4-pole ignition system from Dansi for all models with a displacement of 50 cc and a 6-pole Ducati ignition for the models with a larger displacement (lui 75 and J100-125).

The power output of both ignitions is very modest: the Dansi ignition is specified with 6 V / 18 W and the Ducati version with 6 V / 33 W.

The 50cc models have - in a negative sense - an absolutely minimal electrical system, which as a rule does not even have a brake light. An upgrade is impossible due to the lack of power of this Lambretta alternator.

The new lui and Junior Vape ignition is therefore a more than contemporary update with 12 V and 110 watts of power. In addition, there is the unbeatable advantage of any electronic ignition: there are no smoking capacitors or breakers subject to wear. Maintenance work and a weak ignition spark are a thing of the past.
Thanks to the very high ignition energy at low starting speeds, the Vape ignition offers better starting behavior. The CDI is suitable for all original and tuned engines with static ignition timing.

Thanks to the 12 magnets in the pole wheel and the 9 coils on the ignition base plate, a high current output is available even at low engine speeds and the light no longer flickers at idle. The maximum output of the alternator is 110 watts.

This means that even the 50 cc models can be perfectly upgraded to the features of the larger models, such as high and low beam and a brake light. Additional consumers (USB socket, exhaust gas temperature and the like) are of course also no problem.

The pole wheel of the ignition is manufactured in one piece and balanced to a high standard. The fan blades are CNC milled. The design of the fifteen fan blades has been optimized for a higher cooling capacity. The weight of the pole wheel with fan blades is 1.2 kg.

A special feature of the J50 models is the limited space available for the original 50cc rear light. A flat LED universal rear light can be the solution here.

The terminal board of the lui 75 is - until now - only available for the original contact ignitions. When converting to electronic ignitions, all plug connections should therefore be bridged so that the regulated 12 V is present across the board.

Only green must not be connected to the other colors, as the engine is also switched on and off here.

The 6 V horns / buzzers can be retained on all models. However, it is important to avoid horn concerts in future, otherwise the component will be damaged.
