After an unforgettable day at our SC Open Day in April 2026, we’ve been hard at work selecting, editing, and sending out your photos. Now the moment has arrived: Our popular photo booth is officially online!
In addition to the professionally edited snapshots, today we’re also publishing the most exciting stories and highlights that our Real Scooteristsshared with us that day. Every scooter has its own story, and it’s precisely this passion that makes our community so special.
"Back then, I had built a PX 200 (built in 1984) that was of the same design and looked almost identical. However, with a whopping 33 PS, the original casing—including the old MHR 221 right through the bearing seat. As a result, I decided to completely rebuild my PX from scratch and also replace the leg shield. In the process, however, I noticed that the entire tunnel was so severely rusted through in many places that repairing the frame no longer made sense. That same year, I also bought a house and started a family, so understandably, my hobby took a back seat for a while.
The project was completely on hold until last year. But then the passion struck me again, and I bought a PX 200 with a solid, corrosion-free frame. Over the winter, I finally built the engine the way I’d planned back then.
About the setup: Malossi VR case, a completely new bgm gearbox with shorter gear ratios, the new Malossi 221 with a 60 S&S bell-type shaft, a 34 Polini PWK, Vespatronic, and a pretty unique exhaust—a prototype from back then that never went into production.
At the Scooter Center Open Day, I finally got to take it to the dyno. Unfortunately, it “only” managed 31 PS at the rear wheel. That’s why the cylinder will be reworked again this winter so that my goal of 35 PS can finally become a reality. Whether the work will be successful remains to be seen next year at the next Open Day!”
"I spent my lunch break with a good friend who told me that, after years of asking (“If you ever sell it, please let me know!”), an acquaintance had finally offered him his Vespa for sale. He didn’t want to list it on public sites because it was important to him that it go to someone who truly cared about it—that was the agreement between the two of them. My buddy showed me a photo, and I almost fell over—what a dream! I fell head over heels in love with it right then and there and was completely blown away!
Since my friend couldn’t buy it at that point after all, he’d deliberately shown me the photo. I wanted to try my luck and wasn’t about to let this dream slip away. After I got the number, everything happened pretty quickly: We chatted for hours about all sorts of things and quickly realized we had great chemistry. Finally, I worked up the courage to ask if he’d sell it to me too… he just laughed. The following night, I could barely sleep—I was way too excited and full of doubts about whether I should really go through with it. Luckily, I woke up the next morning feeling happy and ready to say a clear “Yes!”
The price and sales contract were settled quickly, and some friends came with me to pick it up. It had been sitting unused for about seven years. We got all the information, documents, the original engine, a case, and even a parka—one that I practically drown in, but that lets me completely wrap the Vespa underneath me. There wasn’t much to do to get it started: new cables, new gaskets—and after a few sputters, it was running again.
I’m over the moon with “the big one.” For me, a huge dream has come true, and I can hardly believe it every time I open the garage and get to ride off. Seeing our reflection as we ride past store windows makes my heart race! I’m incredibly grateful to my buddy and the salesperson—with whom I’ve developed a very nice and lasting relationship.
Over time, a few requests for modifications have come up, which we’ll be tackling soon.
The seller gave me some more information about the modifications he’d previously made to it: Lusso clutch, stainless V4A screws, power increase from 10 PS to 12 PS (PX 200 engine), and the conversion from 6 V to 12 V."
