After mixed weather on Friday, Saturday began with ideal conditions.
Many familiar faces from Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Poland, and the U.S. gathered to talk shop, tinker with their bikes, and, of course, ride.
A few new riders (“rookies”) also got their first track time and made a very good impression right off the bat.
After the mandatory drivers’ briefing—which all drivers were required to attend—free practice began at 10 a.m. sharp amid what had by then become summer-like temperatures.
The fastest time in the subsequent qualifying session determines the starting grid positions for the first race.
1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Lunch break—absolute engine silence!
At 2:00 p.m. sharp, the first of three races per class got underway. Exciting starts, spectacular battles, close finishes, and even mechanical failures marked the day.
Unfortunately, the schedule was severely disrupted in the afternoon by an accident caused by equipment failure. The schedule was spontaneously rearranged to make up for the delay.
With the final black-and-white checkered flag of the day, the results were finalized, and after the award ceremony (daily standings and the 2025 championship), it was time for the social part of the evening.
Grilling, hanging out together, and talking shop about supposedly better setups for the next race filled the evening, which wrapped up with a party that always takes place at some “tent castle.”
Thanks to Daniela Bumen & Team for the great organization, to the many helping hands, and to all the riders and spectators for coming and cheering us on.
