Although we had feared the drop in temperature in the week leading up to #OpenDaySC, the sun shone all day and accompanied hundreds of petrolheads. It was a great day. As always, we met the #RealScooterists who are part of this community. We were especially happy to see so many young people renewing the scene and also old friends who have been with the Scooter Center for over 30 years. Besides our Open Day classics like the free dyno use, the big private and SC parts market, there were some other great program items and many new exhibitors.
Our product development department opened its doors in the workshop to show projects and answer questions about bgm shock absorbers as well as to present new products for the Vespa GTS etc.. Most of them were particularly pleased to learn that we are also working on a GTS drop handlebar that we want to offer with a TÜV certificate. It was not only about our own brand, but also about the latest developments such as the Egig engine.
Thanks to the good response, the SC merchandising stand and the photo box have now become an integral part of the SC Open Days. Our new #RealScooterist stickers and, of course, the limited edition Open Day T-shirts were in great demand for merchandise. All other proceeds from merchandise sales go to "Um halb an der Bar" to support scooter riders who have had accidents. Best wishes to Everell!
Around 64 scooters and their riders gathered in the photo box. Most of them - as expected - Vespas. Followed by 13 Piaggio mopeds & mopeds, 7 automatics, 6 Lambretta and 2 Royal Alloy. All of them are presented in detail in the blog and the pictures are available for download. Photo box in the Scooter Center
And here is the calm before the storm, as usual the test stand was overcrowded as we had many early risers who joined the queue immediately. Over 50 runs in 6 hours made for ringing ears. The most powerful scooter was delivered by Rollerklinik with its Runner 2T with over 50 hp And this year René Klein defended the title of CIAO with more hp. Last year it was 10 hp and this year it is 11.4 hp.
Those who love to salvage scooter parts can find quite interesting things at the Scooter Center Parts Market you can find some interesting things, even New Old Stock!
A highlight was undoubtedly the visit from Michael Zinnen, whose Vespas not only look good, but also make kilometers: A whole bunch of them came from Aachen to the Scooter Center and we were able to get some of them in front of Niko's lens in the photo box. here's the video.
