This is Casa Lambretta - Part 1 What or who is Casa Lambretta?

Part 1: What or who is Casa Lambretta

? That can be answered relatively soberly. Casa Lambretta was founded in 1980 by Vittorio Tessera to improve the supply of spare parts for the Lambretta. At a time when the Lambretta was being treated like an absolute stepchild, and not just in Italy. Almost forty years later, the Lambretta is more popular than ever before and Casa Lambretta has expanded its range to such an extent that the supply of spare parts is better than ever. From parts for the Model A to those for the dl 200, almost everything is available today: Casa Lambretta Shop

The world's most important parts supplier

Casa Lambretta is, however, much more than - probably - the world's most important parts supplier for the Lambretta. But we'll come to that another time. Casa is located in Rodano, a part of the metropolitan city of Milan (formerly the province of Milan). Not far from Linate airport and about 15 minutes from the Centro Studi and the former Innocenti factory site in Lambrate. And here, in his origins, is also one of the reasons why Vittorio, fortunately for us, has become so fixated on the Lambretta. Vittorio tells us:

"Let me make one thing clear, I'm not a scooter racist. I like all of you Vespa, ISO, Lambretta, Moto Guzzi, Gilera. They are all important and beautiful witnesses to a bygone era, and you can learn a lot from them. However, after a few years I had to make a decision for organizational reasons. And since the Lambretta was born in this region, it was the call of my homeland to choose the Lambretta."

Vittorio Tessera, Casa Lambretta Source
Casa Lambretta moved into its current premises in 2010. Shortly afterwards, we visited him to stock up on parts before the Italian summer break and to help our then and now current Julia acquire her first Lambretta. We reported on it here.

Prodotto in Italia

Vittorio now has his parts warehouse, the workshop for the three full-time restorers (Mario, Maurizio and Fabio) and his new workroom in the 800 square metre building. 95% of Casa Lambretta parts are made in Italy. The small percentage of bought-in parts is usually marked with an A (=Asia) in the origin section of Vittorio's parts lists. Vittorio's wife Orietta keeps track of the orders placed by the Casa Lambretta concessionaires. Best wishes to all!

Museo Scooter & Lambretta

Above the business premises is the Museo Scooter & Lambretta. We have already reported here -> Casa Lambretta Museumbut we will also start here again and present the museum, its concept and the exhibits in detail.

Casa Lambretta concessionaire Germany

Since the Eurolambretta 2003, the Scooter Center has been the Casa Lambretta concessionaire Germany and we like to remember how we, together with our friends Roberto Graupner and Markus Fröschen (best regards too!), got the deal with Vittorio in Assisi off the ground. Beyond the pure business relationship and the love for the Lambretta, a long and intimate friendship has grown.

s what's next

In the next few episodes, we want to show you some examples of how the quality of Casa Lambretta parts has developed. We will present the museum and the exhibits in detail and take a look at the beginnings of the Casa Lambretta company. In particular, we will look at how Vittorio was able to salvage important documents and scooters from the factory at the last minute. Get around betta, travel Lambretta!
