Remove the thrust washer in front of the ball bearing so that the tool can be screwed as far as possible into the thread.
Screw the tool into the swing arm and press out the wheel shaft. Make sure that the screw of the pressing tool does not press into the inner ring of the bearing in the case of wheel shafts that are already damaged or the rare wheel shafts with a short thread stub.
Once the wheel shaft has been pressed out, the brake shoes are freely accessible and can be replaced.
Once the brake shoes have been replaced, the wheel shaft is reinserted and pulled into the bearing with the nut. Then reinsert the thrust washer in front of the bearing and tighten the cover cap. Refit the brake drum, wheel and speedometer drive and finally refit the swingarm cover.
