We had the opportunity to meet Mateo, an Italian #realscooterist who vibrates with the sound of the Vespa. With his
YouTube channel Vespa crazy riders, with almost 6,000 subscribers, he shares his adventures, both on the roads and with his Vespa, with hundreds of tips to help us realize the dream we all share: to travel with our scooters! Below we've asked him a few questions so you can get to know him a little better too.
How did you catch Vespa fever
? My first Vespa was a PK 50 FL2 when I was 15, given to me by an old uncle. It had 75cc and I rode it a lot without a care in the world, but after an accident I left it in the garage. After a few years of renting a modern scooter during the vacations, I found myself trying to brake with my foot (this scooter had no brake pedal) and a spark started to blaze inside me.... VESPA! I WANT a VESPA! And so, after discovering that Piaggio was still producing the PX, I decided to buy a new one to write our story together from scratch, "Vanda" my PX 125 E3. Immediately I felt that Vespa was the perfect solution to satisfy my desire to travel and explore the world.
This led me in 2018, together with my friend Mattia Stabio and his Vespa PX (twin of mine with consecutive license plate number), to be the first classic VESPAs in history to reach Nordkapp in winter, after such an amazing and so hard journey with 120 km/h snowstorm, thousands of kilometers on a sheet of ice and 30°C below zero.
Now the Vespa FL2 is being restored and with bgm special parts I think it will be a cool monster on the road!
I have friends from Vespa clubs from all over the world and now I am a member of my friend Salvatore's Vespa Club Airola.
Why Vespa crazy riders
? I decided to create the
YT channel because I have learned a lot of what I know about Vespa from other scooter riders, so I think sharing information, advice and tips is essential in a passion and I want to do my part. With the power of the internet we can reach many enthusiasts like us all over the world! I am not a mechanic, but I am a Vespa traveler, and I think that a Vespa traveler should know enough about Vespa to prepare them for the ride, to repair them if necessary during the trips and to maintain his Vespas after several kilometers traveled. This to improve the safety and enjoyment of his ride. And I do this on my
YT channel and on social media @vespacrazyriders on

In my content you will find tips on maintenance, tuning and equipment you need for a better and safer ride, and of course all my travels to discover beautiful places and amazing roads!
What is your next goal?
My future projects are to continue exploring the world by going to other continents, while also addicting a solid community of friends Crazy Riders, from the web to reality during events and meetings. My passion and enthusiasm for this is to continue to improve "Vanda" tuning equipment and with Scooter Center and bgm parts I have found a step forward in quality and reliability for years.
