Performance like a Vespa racing exhaust - optics & acoustics almost like a standard exhaust
Purebred Vespa racing exhaust
The BGM BigBox Sport is a purebred racing exhaust with the unsuspicious design of an original exhaust. It positions itself as a clear alternative to conspicuous and usually loud and large resonance exhaust systems. The
high level of performance clearly sets it apart from other box systems. Designed for performance-oriented drivers who appreciate the advantages of an inconspicuous vehicle.
The performance potential of the BigBox SPORT grows with the engine concept
Like any good racing exhaust, the Sport Box requires a powerful engine concept in order to develop its full performance. In the environment of cylinders such as the
Polini 210,
Malossi MHR and co. it offers impressive results. See performance diagrams from test runs on our in-house Scooter Center dyno below. It also easily supports engine outputs above 25 hp and pushes forward with plenty of torque. Despite its
high peak power, the Sport Box starts up with an
early high torque and also enables comfortable driving. Due to its consistent design for a high throttle throughput, the BigBox Sport is not intended for use with near-stock engines or tame tuning cylinders. It requires a clear and powerful exhaust pulse to fill the large volume and
thick manifold of the Sport Box with life.
PRO:
- Original look
- Top performance like a resonance exhaust
- No power hole
- Wide rev range
- More top speed
- Very unobtrusive
- Fits Rally/Sprint without modifications
- Solid construction with clamp on the cylinder
- Handmade in SPAIN
CON:
- Not for vehicles with 8 inch tires (ground clearance too low)
- Not for near-series engines
Fastening and installation
Installation is simple. The manifold is attached to the cylinder using a clamp. Sealing is achieved for the different exhaust pipe diameters on the 200cc models using insert plates. Compared to a loose mounting with an O-ring seal, this provides the
best stability and prevents damage to the exhaust flange. For even greater ground clearance, a long spacer could be used on the rear shock absorber.
Conclusion:
Pure understatement. Performance like a racing exhaust, appearance and sound similar to an original exhaust.Depending on the engine concept, the BigBox can significantly increase performance, just like a resonance exhaust [su_spacer] [su_button url="https://www.scooter-center.com/en/product/BGM1011SP/" target="blank" background="#d40e14" size="8" icon="icon: shopping-cart"]Buy Vespa BigBox SPORT 200 here[/su_button] [su_spacer]
The Vespa BigBox in the test

BigBox SPORT on 12hp Vespa PX200
Even as a racy racing exhaust, the BigBox SPORT can mobilize more torque in the upper speed range on a 12hp original Vespa engine. In comparison here against an old acquaintance, the Sito Plus. But it really gets going on a tuned Polini or Malossi engine. See below.

Bigbox SPORT with Polini 207 grey cast iron
Even on a simple grey cast iron Polini 207 with a slightly reworked intake and original Piaggio crankshaft, the BigBox Sport can
provide more power and torque. With this engine, even more power and above all torque could certainly be achieved in the lower rev range by further processing of the intake and a
bgm Pro crankshaft.

bgm PRO BigBox SPORT aud Malossi MHR
The BigBox feels really at home on engines that offer
large channel surfaces and generally have the
potential for a little more power. Here on an engine with 59mm stroke bell shaft (57mm stroke with eccentric crankpin) and plugged
Malossi MHR (spacer at cylinder base 1.0mm, cylinder head gasket 0.5mm).

With main stand
Of course, the main stand still fits on the PX, but even on Vespa Rally, Sprint, GT, GTR models! It was not really easy to fit the manifold length on the vehicle, it took us a few attempts to find a course that
fits on as
many vehicles as possible and does not collide with the main stand or the kick plate. On the Rally, Sprint, GT, GTR models, the distance to the stand feet is often critical in connection with a 200cc engine. With the BigBox Sport, we have made sure that there is sufficient space here and on the main stand.

Maximum ground clearance
Although the BigBox lives up to its name due to its design, we have also considered the corresponding ground clearance during installation. As usual with the Largeframe models, only the screw of the kick starter and the gearshift button usually have contact with the road.

However, we must also advise against using the BigBox Sport for the 200cc on vehicles with 8" tires. Please check the clearance of the manifold to the kick plate and the road surface. In individual cases, you can correct this with a longer spacer on the rear shock absorber.
BigBox TOURING for 10" and 8" Vespa
For lovers of engines that deliver their torque at lower engine speeds, we are working on the Touring version of the BigBox. This will then also be suitable for the 8" models.
Vespa exhaust BigBox SPORT fits on:
- Vespa 200 Rally (VSE1T - Femsa)
- Vespa 200 Rally (VSE1T - Ducati)
- Vespa 200 P E (VSX1T - -1980)
- Vespa 200 PX E Lusso (VSX1T - 1984-97)
- Vespa 200 PX E (VSX1T - 1981-83)
- Vespa 200 PX E Lusso (ZAPM18 - 1998-)
