Project Paul

Since 2021, Scooter Center has been the official sponsor of the Vespa racing team "Project Paul". On the weekend 03/04.07.2021 the team will compete in the Scooter Center Cup at the Nürburgring and we are keeping our fingers crossed for them. We asked Dennis, the team boss of Project Paul, to introduce himself and the team. Dennis gives us an insight into how Project Paul came about and what is behind the sport. Hello! My name is Dennis Krawatzki and I am the team boss ofProject Paul. Even as a child, I spent a lot of time on racetracks and was thrilled by the atmosphere. My first motorized bike was a PX 80 in 1992, and I quickly realized that you can tune a Vespa like that really well. The PX 80 was my first bike and I soon took part in various quarter-mile races with my Rally 200. In 2008 - with the support of Scooter Center - I took part in a circuit race for the first time, the 4-hour race on the Cologne exhibition grounds. Since then, I have been infected with the racing virus! Together with friends, we founded our first team (DART Racing) in 2009, with which we successfully completed several races. In 2015, the decision was made to found my own team. It was clear to me from the start that this team should continue to be run by friends only. As my father not only provided me with advice and support, but also helped a lot with the construction of the chassis (welding work), I decided to secure him a permanent place in my team. The new vehicle was to bear his second name from then on: "PAUL". "Project Paul", the resulting team name, started with a Falc Racing rotary valve engine in the first year. Over time, I tinkered and planned optimizations with my friends and companions until we decided on an M200 engine and the corresponding setup. Over the years, we have grown into a friendly and familiar group with "Project Paul", and that across national borders. Friends from the Netherlands and France have joined the team. Their enthusiasm for this project, the shining eyes of everyone involved (whether it's helpers during set-up, our graphic designer Yoleila or fans with specially made T-shirts at the race track), when Paul comes around the corner and the race starts again, makes me happy every time. It always encourages me to get better and to continue to optimize the vehicle. An important partner - alongside my friends, who are always thinking about the setup - is Scooter Center, for whom I have also been working part-time since the 1990s, i.e. making special parts. Here, too, Ulf, Oli and I have developed a long-standing friendship and now want to support "Project Paul".

That fits in with our team spirit: FRIENDSHIP

. At every race, my friends are there with heart and soul as riders, supporters and fans. Whether at the race track or online from home, they cheer us on at every race! And because we want to continue to live this in the future, we are very happy about the support from Scooter Center and look forward to the time together. Our entire team would like to thank you, the Scooter Center team, from the bottom of our hearts!
