Collaboration with Casa Performance and Rimini Lambretta Center

The collaboration between Casa Performance, Rimini Lambretta Centre and Scooter Center / bgm PRO has been in place for many years. Back in 2016, we supplied Vittorio Tessera’s Casa Lambretta Racing Team with some bgm PRO parts—including our Superstrong clutch with Racing Red pads. We reopted back then here: 

Casa Lambretta Racing Team Succeeds with bgm PRO Parts

We are now continuing this partnership: Casa Performance manufactures the bgm PRO Smoothmaster for us—equipped with our Racing Red plates. This is another clutch, alongside the Superstrong, that meets the same standard: they have to perform in everyday use and on track use equally.

Technically, the Smoothmaster is based on the proven Casa Performance design, a modified version of which is also used in the powerful SSR and SST engines.

• CNC-machined stainless steel parts (pinion, lower cover plates)
• Heat-treated and ground for perfect chain alignment
• 6 friction discs with bgm PRO Racing Red linings
• No spacer required—plug-and-play installation under the original engine cover
• Includes: LI/SX and GP pressure plates, installation tool, nut, and washer
• Available with 46 or 47 teeth

Racing Red pads

The six friction discs are our bgm PRO Superstrong Racing Red. The organic friction material is temperature- and pressure-stable, low-wear, and offers excellent grip. These very same friction discs have proven themselves for years in the Superstrong series and in high-performance setups. In the Smoothmaster as well, they ensure that power transmission remains smooth and reliable even under high power output and with stiff springs.

Cush-Drive and ball-bearing pressure plate

The integrated cush drive system decouples the clutch sprocket and noticeably dampens load spikes. This protects the drivetrain and chain and makes for a smoother riding experience. The ball-bearing-mounted pressure plate reduces the operating force required at the lever and ensures precise, smooth disengagement.

The bgm PRO Smoothmaster by Casa Performance is not a compromise solution. It combines the lightweight cassette design and the integrated Cush-Drive from Casa Performance with the proven bgm Racing Red pads. The result is a clutch that is lightweight, sturdy, smooth-operating, and high-performance—all while fitting under the original engine cover.

Superstrong Remains – Made in Germany

Alongside the Smoothmaster, we continue to offer our bgm PRO Superstrong:

These clutches are still manufactured at our CNC facility right across the street. The Casa Lambretta Racing Team used to race with the Superstrong—back when Casa didn’t yet have its own clutches in its lineup. So the partnership has been around for a long time, and with the Smoothmaster, Casa Performance is now providing us with another high-performance clutch option.
