Brake arm with rear brake cam -SCOOTER CENTER- V50,PK S/XL/XL2 - adjustable
The frequently used rear brake on Vespa Smallframe models can only be adjusted with a little skill using the normal adjusting screw. Since the Vespa PX125T5 was launched, there has been an easy-to-use solution with an adjusting nut for the Vespa Largeframe models. We already offer a conversion kit for all PX models. Even the large and wideframe models with external brake pedalsuch as the Vespa Rally 200, can be fitted with the suitable inner cable or the cable adapter can be converted. With the appropriate brake arm and the adapter for the brake cable this conversion is also quickly completed on the Smallframes. For the Vespa Smallframe we have a brake cam with the same principle of the Vespa PX125T5. This means that the rear brake can now also be adjusted with a handle and without tools. The existing brake cable can still be used with a cable adapter

Here are a few instructions for converting the brake cam: Drain the Drain the gear oil or alternatively ensure that the scooter is tilted slightly to the right in the direction of travel during the conversion so that no gear oil can leak out when the brake drum is removed. Depending on the equipment of the vehicle, first remove the exhaust and then the wheel including the brake drum. On Vespa V50 and PK models with an original exhaust, this can remain in place. The brake shoes must be removed from the brake anchor plate. Make sure that the retaining rings and the sliding supports of the brake shoes. Loosen the clamping screw for the brake cable using a 13 mm open-end wrench and then remove the brake anchor plate by loosening the three nuts. It should now be quite easy to remove the original brake arm from the brake anchor plate. Carefully pull the brake cable out of the clamping screw. If the brake cable is still in perfect condition, it can still be used with the help of the brake cable adapter. A little tip: The end of the cable is normally welded to prevent it from splicing. If possible, first thread this welded end through the brake cable adapter before the cable is brought to the supposedly correct length. The new brake cam is reinserted into the brake anchor plate with a little grease. The clearance in the center of the cam serves as a place for a small supply of lubricant for the brake cam. The two O-rings prevent the heated grease from running into the brake later on and protect against splashing water.
