Malossi offers with the 221cc MHR MK2 WITHOUT head a special cylinder for engines with long stroke crankshafts. The 3 millimetre longer stroke (series 57mm, long stroke 60mm) provides 221cc displacement.

The most obvious change compared to the otherwise almost identical old 221cc MHR kit is the now bolted exhaust flange.Two steel parts (4 times bolted steel plate and socket) now seal the exhaust port by means of an O-ring to the cylinder. The cylinder itself is adapted to the 60mm stroke in that it is 1.5mm longer at the cylinder head sealing surface than its 210cc counterpart.

This results in relatively tame timing angles by Malossi MHR standards of approximately 182° exhaust to 123° overflow. The exhaust is well prepared with 43,3mm chord width (= 63%) as well as gentle corner radii for a powerful and long piston life.
The very large scavenging and exhaust area in combination with not too high timing angles predestine the 221cc MHR as the ideal cylinder for all who want to build a fast and powerful power tourer.
Engine outputs of well over 25hp, coupled with a rich torque are possible with the Malossi without further reworking of the cylinder.
In combination with our Big Box exhaust, 26hp and 29NM were already achieved, whereby the full torque is already available at under 6000 rpm. Already at 4500rpm there is 16hp at the wheel, literally a traction engine...!
