Powerful cast iron cylinder with 106cc for Vespa Smallframe 50cc
The VMC T-56 is relatively special because it is one of the few cylinders for Vespa Smallframe engines with a small stroke (original 50cc) that has a large channel cross-section.
This makes it the most powerful cast iron cylinder for the small stroke, which also means that the small cylinder cover can still be used.
This makes it unrecognizable from the outside, despite having more than twice the displacement of a standard engine.
Although the cylinder is manufactured for the standard stroke of the 50cc models, it should be used with a racing crankshaft. This has a longer intake control angle and also has better bearings in case of doubt (some old V50 engines still use connecting rod bushes instead of needle bearings). We also recommend the use of a 19/19mm carburetor for 125cc models and a suitable exhaust such as the BGM Touring Box for V50 or PK.
Bore: Ø56mm
Stroke: 43mm (standard)
Piston: Cast aluminum with TIN coating
Piston rings: 2pcs, 1mm thickness
Cylinder head: Aluminum CNC
8-fold bolted CNC cylinder head
The generous port areas in conjunction with the relatively long control angles offer a high power output.
With 124°/172° and the resulting 24° advance angle, the cylinder is already relatively sporty for V50 engines and responds very positively to a good box exhaust system such as the BGM Touring Box.
Steering angle: 124°/172°
Recommended squeeze edge: 1.2mm (±0.1mm)
Compression ratio: 9.85:1
Exhaust cross-section: Ø28mm
Ignition setting static: 16° v.Ot.
Hole spacing exhaust studs: 52mm
Tightening torque cylinder head bolts M6: 10-11Nm
Tightening torque cylinder head nuts M7: 14-15Nm
Enclosed gaskets: 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm
Spark plug: NGK B9ES (or similar)
