Dexter Racing intake manifold (rotary valve) for Vespa PX - 28-30 mm

Handmade in a small Italian tuning factory. The intake manifold moves the carburettor higher and more horizontally than conventional intake manifolds - this stabilizes the fuel level, simplifies tuning and creates installation space: With Dell'Orto PHBH, the float chamber no longer touches the cooling air cover. Important note on pre-PX models see box below.

Important: Engine position on pre-PX models & spacer on rear shock absorber

On largeframe models prior to the PX series (e.g. Sprint, GT/GTR, GL/TS, Super, Rally), the engine sits slightly lower in the chassis due to the design.
To ensure sufficient clearance between the carburetor and frame, a longer spacer on the rear shock absorber is often recommended (various lengths available, e.g. BGM 26-52 mm).
Tip: Select the length so that the carburetor/bellows run tension-free and the tilt angle of the engine is not too large.
Handmade in Italy For rotary valve housing 28-30 mm carburetor (PHBH/PWK/VHSH/TM/TMX) More horizontal carburetor position More distance to the fan cowl

Advantages compared to standard carburetors

Higher, more horizontal carburetor position - easier jetting, more stable float level
More installation space: PHBH float chamber does not touch the cooling air hood - leaks are avoided
Clean hose routing, good accessibility for servicing
Precisely fitting sealing surfaces - reliable operation in everyday use and under load

Technical data & use

Connection: Intake manifold on the engine housing (rotary valve intake)
Carburetor: Ø 28-30 mm (e.g. Dell'Orto PHBH, Keihin PWK, Dell'Orto VHSH, Mikuni TM/TMX)
Geometry: raised, flatter carburettor position to stabilize the fuel level
Application: performance-oriented rotary valve setups with reproducible tuning

Compatible models (selection)

P/PX series: P125X/P150X/P200E, PX125/150/200 (E, Lusso/Arcobaleno, Disc/MY), T5 125
Pre-PX: VBA/VBB, VNB/VNC/VBC (125/150 Super), VLB (Sprint & Sprint Veloce), VLA/VGLB (GL 150), VNL2/VNL3 (GT/GTR/TS), VSD (Rally 180), VSE (Rally 200)
Not suitable (direct intake/piston port): VNA, GS160, SS180
PX 125/150 Iris, 125/150 CL, 200 DS (in each case rotary valve-based large-frame engines)
Older Motovespa largeframes analogous to VBB/VBC/VLB/VNL - check intake design (rotary valve necessary)
LML Star / Genuine Stella 2T: Often diaphragm/reed as standard; the connecting piece only fits rotary valve cases (e.g. after conversion to Malossi V-One/Pinasco Master Rotary cases). Check intake system before ordering.
Other licensed constructions (e.g. Bajaj Chetak/Super): usually PX-like largeframe engines - check intake type (rotary valve) and installation space.

Assembly instructions

Clean/check sealing surfaces; use suitable gaskets/sealant
Adjust cable/hose routing to higher carburetor position; ensure free steering angle
PX with separate lubrication: When converting to an external carburetor, the oil pump is omitted; change the oil supply to a mixture (mix oil/petrol yourself when refueling, e.g. 1:50) and close the pump opening properly
