There are those moments when you just hope everything goes smoothly. One of those moments was when Rob from Kickback Garage (youtube.com/@kickbackgarage) announced he’d be testing the MZ30 exhaust.
The idea behind the MZ30 came from the mysterious Mr MZ himself. His mission: to create a Lambretta exhaust that’s easy to fit, practically indestructible and delivers a wide power band with strong torque – 30+ hp on a TS1 engine was just one of the requirements. After kicking off the project and building the first prototypes, Po and Siggi from Austria joined the development team. Together, we began testing the first layouts on various TS1 engines on the dyno in summer 2024.
Rob sums it up perfectly in the video:
"As mentioned in the video: the MZ30 is by far the easiest expansion chamber I’ve ever installed. My engine with Casa Performance casing and 62 mm crank is usually a nightmare when it comes to exhaust fitment."
Later that year, the MZ30 went into production – manufactured by JL, based on Andy Francis’ extensive experience with his Franspeed exhaust line. Decades of feedback from the European Lambretta scene have shaped this pipe – and it shows.
