The BGM PRO pole wheel is a very high quality reproduction of the original Piaggio PK pole wheel which is no longer available.
We have invested in brand new molds and are now able to offer the much sought-after conversion pole wheels in fantastic quality at a very fair price.
FEATURES
Smallframe weight 1600 grams (V50, PV, ET3, PK - original up to 2800 grams)
Largeframe weight 2300 grams (Sprint, PX, LML, Cosa - original up to 3200 grams)
High ignition timing accuracy
Very good concentricity
Balanced ex works
Good magnetization
Higher performance due to optimized blade surface
The pole wheels are matched to the respective application by their weight:
At 1600 grams, the smallframe models are perfectly suited to the lively characteristics of the small motors.
At 2300 grams, the largeframe motors offer a wonderful mixture of smooth running and excellent acceleration.
The pole wheels always require a 12V ignition base plate/alternator. This means that any previously contact-controlled engine can be converted to a fully electronic CDI ignition with voltage-controlled on-board electrics. We offer complete sets with all the parts required for conversion (see alternatives/accessories).
Available in four versions:
BGM8025RT: Vespa Largeframe 2300g, large cone, M12 (1978-) - PX, Cosa, LML 125/150 (2-stroke)
For converting all Largeframe engines that already have the large cone (pole wheel thread M12, width across flats 18) but still have a contact-controlled ignition (approx. 1978-1981, PX, Sprint Veloce, GTR, Super, TS). Here, the pole wheel and a new 12V ignition base plate are required. On later models (e.g. Vespa PX from approx. 1982, Cosa, LML) with factory-fitted electronic ignition, this can still be used. When converting to the BGM pole wheel, you benefit from a significantly livelier engine characteristic with noticeably improved acceleration and higher engine performance.
BGM8032RT: Vespa Largeframe 2300g, small cone, M11 (1957-1977) - Sprint, GT, GTR, Super, GL, VNA, VBA, VNB, VBB, Motovespa 125/150 S/N/L
The most classic of all largeframe engines. Still has the old type of crankshaft with a thin (pointed) cone which can be recognized from the outside by the pole wheel nut with M11 thread and wrench size 14.
These engines always have contact ignition ex works.
Here, the conversion of the pole wheel, ignition and vehicle wiring harness creates a modern vehicle electrical system that is absolutely maintenance-free and includes a powerful 12V alternator that provides a fantastically bright light. Starting on the first kick included.
BGM8033RT: Vespa Smallframe 1600g, small cone, M10 - V50, 50N, Spezial, SR50, Sprinter, SS50, SS90, V90, 90 Racer, V100, ET3, PV, PK S
Suitable for all Smallframe engines with small cone (pole nut M10, SW14 or SW16). These engines always have contact ignition ex works (exception ET3/PK).
By converting the pole wheel, ignition and vehicle wiring harness, a modern vehicle electrical system is created that is absolutely maintenance-free and includes a powerful 12V alternator that provides a fantastically bright light. Starting on the first kick included. PK models that already have a voltage regulator do not require a new wiring harness.
BGM8034RT: Vespa Smallframe 1600g, large cone, M12 - PK XL/XL2, PK FL2, PK HP, PK125 ETS, Motovespa PK75 XL (96M/104M), PK75 FL (127M/128M)
For Smallframe engines that already have the large cone (pole wheel thread M12, width across flats 18).
Replaces the original (no longer available) pole wheel 1:1. When converting to the BGM pole wheel, you benefit from a significantly livelier engine characteristic with noticeably improved acceleration.
It is also very popular on older engines (originally with a small cone) when these have been converted to the more stable crankshafts of the Vespa PK XL or ETS.
