The Queen is here - Royal Alloy in the Scooter Center

Welcome to Scooter Center: Royal Alloy

You know our heart belongs to the classics. Our passion has always been for geared Vespas and Lambrettas. But especially fans of the old Lambretta models are increasingly casting one or two glances at a young English machine that looks strikingly similar to the Italian ladies in their best days. It wraps around a tubular frame, runs automatically and even carries a royal-looking crest. More and more often this young lady blends into the crowd of old geared scooters, sparking excitement and discussions. Some have even mistaken her at first sight for a real Lambretta. And that is fully intentional.

Retro look instead of plastic charm

Modern Vespa models stand out at scooter rallies with their half-exposed engines, clearly different from the old metal scooters. And the new Lambretta, too, shows off its entire chassis unashamedly and comes with a boxy design that rarely pleases the classic-loving eye. The still relatively fresh newcomer to Germany, Royal Alloy, on the other hand, dresses in a convincing retro outfit, inspired by Lambretta designs of the 1960s and 70s. Sheet metal, aluminium and steel enclose the latest technology in every Royal Alloy model, with plenty of punch under the side panels.

Modern classic variety

Royal Alloy is now available in many different models, all reminiscent of classic Lambrettas and depending on the version either water- or air-cooled. In addition to the flagship TG Series, customers can also sweep through the corners with the Side-Car Series. The GT2 Range is “the perfect answer for the new generation of scooter riders, as it combines the perfect symbiosis of classic and modern.”

The question of faith

And again and again opinions clash: “Never automatic!” – “I still want to shift myself!” – “But actually, for a modern scooter it looks pretty good.”

Meanwhile, the scooterboys and -girls of the first hour are themselves at an age where sometimes you feel like you need a sack truck to get out of bed in the morning. Kick-starting (or pushing) the scooter, going on extended tours with manual shifting, or repairing the aged Italian love by the roadside has become a challenge for some. And sometimes something happens that simply prevents you from riding a geared scooter. We already told you here on the blog about Elmar, who rode geared scooters for decades, until an accident ruined his shifting hand. Now he rides a Royal Alloy in Mod look with great enthusiasm.

Royal newcomer at SC: GP 300

Enough preamble, you probably guessed it already: we are fans of the young automatic lady and now also have a Royal Alloy in the stable, a GP 300. Accordingly, we have expanded our range, and owners of the royal metal will find numerous spare parts in the SC Shop.

Premium instead of plastic

For example, the PRO Brake lever sets for Royal Alloy GP 125-300 and TG 125-300. These exquisite eye-catchers made of aluminium – of course with ABE – are available from us in silver, gold, titanium and black gloss.

The factory-installed plastic cover for the variator cover can easily be replaced with an elegant CNC-milled bgm version made of high-strength aluminium. Available in matt or gloss.

What’s next?

Special seats from European production are already on order. Stay tuned, they will be pretty cool. Of course we’ll keep you up to date. You can also look forward to a bgm suspension for the Royal Alloy: the original RA suspension is decent, but we want to make it better. Prototypes are already in-house, Kevin from Savage Scooters has already installed and tested the suspension. You can watch it here in his video:

Our first test rides were promising. We are still fine-tuning the optimal setup, so you will have to be patient until we can offer you the ideal bgm suspension for your Queen.
