Attention Vespa fans! Piaggio has given its classics, the Vespa Primavera and the Vespa Sprint S, a proper makeover. While the timeless design of the Italian cult scooters has fortunately been retained, a lot has happened under the bodywork and in terms of equipment. Particularly exciting for all those for whom 125 cc was a little too little: A new wind is blowing in the displacement class!
The new 180cc engine: the power boost
Probably the most important news first: the new 180 iGet engine has already been presented in markets such as Indonesia. With a genuine 174 cm³, this single-cylinder engine brings significantly more riding pleasure to the asphalt.
Technology upgrade: safety and comfort
Vespa is moving with the times and giving the 2026 models features that we were previously more familiar with from the large GTS models:
Design: fine-tuning the cult object
Visually, Vespa remains true to itself, but sets accents:
Electric options
E-mobility is not neglected either. The Primavera and Sprint S are still available as an Elettrica. Particularly practical for city dwellers without their own garage: in the moped class, the electric models now have removable batteries that can be conveniently charged at home.
CONCLUSION
Vespa has once again managed to master the balancing act between tradition and modernity. The introduction of the 180cc engine (as soon as it is available across the board) and the technical upgrade with the rear disc brake make the little wasps more attractive than ever.
What do you think of the updates? Is the new digital display a must or does a Vespa need an analog speedometer?
