The year was 1954 and Lambretta Locomociones S.A. began producing the Lambretta under license in the Spanish town of Eibar. This was the result of negotiations between the existing Spanish company ALFA and Innocenti. The result is the second scooter built under license in Spain. Production ends in 1989 and during this period the Lambrettas are produced under different names. If you want to find out all the details, and I really mean all the details, there's no getting around Jaime Supereibar's encyclopaedia on the subject:
Both books are not only absolute must-reads, but also an asset to any coffee table. The history of the Lambretta built in Eibar can be roughly categorized as follows:
Lambretta made in Eibar 1954 - 1989
Lambretta Locomociones S.A (LL) (1954)
Serveta Industrial S.A (1972)
Lambretta S.A.L (1982)
ORBAR (1986)
