The DEXTER RACING 8-inch aluminum rim combines the classic two-piece design of early Vespa rims with modern tubeless technology. Both rim halves are CNC-machined from solid aluminum and sealed together with an O-ring. This allows the rim to remain disassemblable while still being compatible with a suitable tubeless tire.
The design is intended for classic Vespa Wideframe and Largeframe models with a closed 8-inch wheel mount. It can be used on both the front and rear wheels and also serves as the base component for the DEXTER RACING 8-inch disc brake set DEX20158.

Unlike classic Vespa rims, which are stamped from sheet steel, the two rim halves are CNC-machined entirely from solid aluminum. This allows for precise machining of the contact, centering, and sealing surfaces.
The result is a technically advanced rim that retains the characteristic two-piece design of the original Vespa 8-inch rim, yet features a thoroughly modernized construction.
Classic Vespa rims consist of two rim halves bolted together. This design is exceptionally service-friendly, but in its original form requires an inner tube.
DEXTER RACING combines this proven principle with modern tubeless technology. An O-ring seal is positioned between the two rim halves, sealing the joint after the rim halves are bolted together.
This means the rim remains disassemblable, just like the original Vespa rim, but can be used with a suitable 8-inch tubeless tire.
The rim also serves as the ideal base component for the DEXTER RACING DEX20158 disc brake kit. This allows for the installation of a modern disc brake system even on classic Vespa models with 8-inch tires.
The key advantage: The characteristic 8-inch wheel size is preserved. A major conversion of the vehicle to 10-inch wheels is not required for the corresponding DEXTER RACING 8-inch brake system.
This is particularly appealing for early Wideframe and Largeframe models, where the proportions, vehicle height, and classic 8-inch look are intentionally preserved.
