The Malossi Vespower is now also available for the older Vespa Largeframe models (up to approx. 1977) with a small crankshaft stub (recognizable by the pole nut with M11 thread and wrench size 14). These models have a contact ignition ex works, which is often in a poor state of maintenance. If you are not confident enough to overhaul the original (high-quality) ignition or generally want to convert to a 12-volt electrical system and electronic ignition, you can use the Malossi VesPower in addition to the BGM ignition. Its dynamic ignition adjustment is not necessary on most engines and is often even counterproductive on touring engines, which is why BGM also offers a CDI with static (fixed) ignition timing.
Malossi includes a cable branch for wiring with the original wiring harness of the Vespa GL150 (VLA1T) with this set. However, there are several variations of wiring harnesses for this model alone. If the ignition is to be used on a model whose cable colors on the engine cable box differ from those in the Malossian cable (orange, grey, red, white, yellow), we generally recommend the additional use of our conversion wiring harness (item no: 9077011UVT see also accessories).
The conversion wiring harness (for the entire vehicle) is basically always recommended if a completely smooth functioning of the vehicle electrics is to be ensured. The old wiring harnesses are often prone to faults due to cable breaks. The BGM PRO conversion wiring harness offers the advantage of very simple wiring and absolute operational reliability.
