Cylinder EGIG PERFORMANCE Revo 220 ccm Triple Exhaust Port for Vespa PV125, ET3 and PK125

Hand-machined aluminum cylinder body with three-piece exhaust port, Ø 68 mm bore and designed for 60 mm stroke and 117 mm connecting rod.

The EGIG PERFORMANCE Revo 220 cc is the sportier version of the EGIG smallframe cylinder concept. With a three-piece hand-machined exhaust, Ø 68 mm bore, 60 mm stroke and 117 mm connecting rod, this cylinder body is designed for high performance, a wide rev range and powerful resonance set-ups. The Revo layout is machined before the Nikasil coating is applied to the cylinder. The technical basis is aimed at high-performance Vespa smallframe projects based on PV125, ET3 125 and PK125 with matching engine housing and coordinated peripherals. The cylinder is supplied without pistons, cylinder head, diaphragm, intake and other attachments.

What makes the EGIG Revo 220 cylinder body so special

Revo design: three-piece, hand-machined exhaust for more peak power and rev range compared to one-piece exhaust variants. Machining takes place before the Nikasil coating of the cylinder
220 cc design: Ø 68 mm bore in conjunction with 60 mm stroke and 117 mm connecting rod
Nikasil coating: aluminum cylinder with robust raceway coating
For high-performance reed valve set-ups: suitable for the EGIG cylinder concept with Italkit 8-valve reed valve, if used separately
Smallframe-compatible peripherals: 30 mm or 34 mm intake can be routed through the original frame hole depending on the setup
Note scope of delivery: Cylinder body without piston, head, diaphragm, intake, gaskets and other attachments

Revo Triple Exhaust Port: more exhaust area, more rev range

The Revo variant uses a three-piece exhaust port. Compared to a one-piece exhaust port, this layout offers more possible exhaust area and therefore a higher performance potential. This gives the engine a sportier character: the power is more pronounced in the resonance range, the usable rev range is shifted upwards and the setup requires more careful tuning of the exhaust, carburetor, ignition and transmission.

With a 60 mm stroke, the layout of the Triple Revo variant is approximately 129° overflow time and 190° exhaust time. This means that the Revo 220 is clearly geared towards performance-oriented engines. With the right set-up, outputs of up to around 40 hp and 35 Nm are possible. The exhaust, carburetor, diaphragm, crankshaft, housing machining and dyno tuning are always decisive.

Revo compared to one-piece exhaust variants

Three-piece exhaust: more peak power and more usable rev range in the upper range
sporty character: power build-up noticeably more powerful and more characterized by the resonance range
Tuning more important: carburetor jetting and exhaust selection react more sensitively to setup changes
One-piece exhaust: earlier torque and smoother power delivery, but less peak power and less band
Revo target direction: sporty street engines, sprint setups and engines for high continuous power with clean tuning

Ø 68 mm bore and Nikasil liner

The cylinder body has a Ø 68 mm bore and is designed as an aluminum cylinder with Nikasil coating. The Revo layout is machined before the cylinder is coated. As a result, the machined channel and exhaust areas are subsequently also coated and the raceway remains cleanly matched to the final machining status. The matching piston is not part of this article and must be selected separately to match the desired design.

In conjunction with a 60 mm stroke, this results in a 220 cc setup. The compression ratio is approximately 12.5:1 with a pinch point of around 1.2 to 1.3 mm, provided the head, piston and body are selected accordingly. The crushing edge, ignition timing, fuel quality and temperature balance must be carefully matched at this power level.

Stud bolt pattern, exhaust flange and cylinder cover

The EGIG Revo 220 is designed for modern smallframe housings and performance-oriented peripherals. The 8-fold stud bolt pattern covers both the M200 and the EGIG 250/300 hole pattern. On the exhaust side, the cylinder uses a 65 mm hole pattern, as known from the M200, supplemented by a central third M8 fastening thread.

Stud bolt pattern: M200 and EGIG 250/300 perforation, 8-point design
Exhaust flange: 65 mm hole pattern, identical to the M200 dimension
Additional fastening: third M8 thread in the middle of the exhaust
Cylindercover: fixing points and dimensions suitable for PX125 cylinder cover
Cylinder head: not included in the scope of delivery

Diaphragm, intake and frame clearance

The cylinder concept is designed for high-performance reed valve setups and can be fitted with an Italkit 8-valve reed valve and 30 mm or 34 mm intake. However, these components are not included in the scope of delivery of this article. Depending on the intake selected, the intake path can be routed through the original frame hole, which reduces the amount of bodywork required for powerful smallframe engines.

Important: Note the housing and centering pins

There are two centering pins on the cylinder base. This centering can only be used in conjunction with the appropriate EGIG/Fabbri housing. In the case of different engine housings, the technical design must be checked carefully before installation.

not intended as a series replacement: the Revo 220 is a tuning cylinder for suitable smallframe engine cases
Check centering: two centering pins on the cylinder base can only be used with EGIG/Fabbri housings
Select peripherals separately: Piston, head, diaphragm, intake, exhaust, ignition and crankshaft must be added to match the setup
Measure before final assembly: Check crushing edge, timing, piston clearance and sealing surfaces

Stroke variants and mounting height

The EGIG cylinder concept can be built with different stroke and connecting rod combinations. The Revo 220 variant described here is designed for a 60 mm stroke and 117 mm connecting rod. For other stroke or connecting rod lengths, the cylinder position must be adjusted accordingly.

205 cc: 56.5 mm stroke with 116 mm connecting rod
210 cc: 58 mm stroke with 117 mm connecting rod
220 ccm: 60 mm stroke with 117 mm connecting rod
Deviating combinations: with longer or shorter connecting rods, corrections must be made via spacers or machining of the cylinder base, depending on the design

Timing with 60 mm stroke

Variant Overflow time Exhaust time Character
Triple 129° 186° sporty, but wider
Single 129° 186° early pressure, even unfolding
Triple Revo 129° 190° More peak power and more rev range
Single CHEP 129° 190° sporty single outlet

With less stroke, the exhaust time changes more than the overflow time. The higher the stroke, the lower the advance in relation. For this reason, the timing must always be measured on the actual engine.

Engine character and area of application

The EGIG Revo 220 is somewhere between a powerful street cylinder and a sporty racing cylinder. Depending on the exhaust and carburetor, it can be built up to be very powerful, but also suitable for long-distance racing. The three-piece Revo exhaust appeals to riders who are looking for more top performance and more volume than the tamer variants and are willing to accept a more complex set-up in return.

for sporty street engines with a powerful resonance exhaust
for sprint and acceleration set-ups with high power output
for long-distance engines when cooling, carburetor, ignition and exhaust are properly tuned
for mechanics who plan the engine as a complete system and measure the timing and squeeze edge themselves

Scope of delivery

This article only includes the cylinder body. All other components must be added separately to match the engine setup.

included: EGIG PERFORMANCE Revo 220 ccm cylinder body

Assembly and tuning instructions

not a plug and play series replacement: the cylinder belongs in a consistently planned tuning engine
Select pistons separately: Piston dimensions, piston clearance, ring joint and piston pin must match the cylinder and setup
Adjust the crushing edge: Target range approx. 1.2 to 1.3 mm depending on the setup, always check on your own engine
Measure the timing: Specifications are approximate values and depend on stroke, connecting rod, seals, spacers and housing
Carefully tune the carburetor: three-part outlets react more sensitively to incorrect jetting and can show pre-resolve holes if set up incorrectly
Racing component: road approval, noise, emissions and registration must be clarified separately for each vehicle

FAQ about the EGIG PERFORMANCE Revo 220 cc cylinder

Only the EGIG PERFORMANCE Revo 220 cc cylinder body is supplied. Piston, cylinder head, diaphragm, intake manifold, gaskets, stud bolts and other attachments are not included unless specified separately.
The Revo variant uses approx. 129° / 190° timing at 60 mm stroke and is designed more for peak power and speed range. The normal triple exhaust has a stroke of 60 mm at approx. 129° / 186° and is slightly wider and less pointed.
The Revo 220 is not intended as a simple stock replacement. The two centering pins on the cylinder base can only be used with the matching EGIG/Fabbri housing. The housing base must therefore be checked carefully before installation.
The 220 cc version is designed for 60 mm stroke and 117 mm connecting rod. If the stroke or connecting rod combination differs, the cylinder position must be adjusted by means of spacers, machining or turning off the cylinder base.
On suitable setups, the three-piece EGIG exhaust can enable outputs of up to around 40 hp and 35 Nm. This is not an individual value of the cylinder alone, but depends on the complete structure of the housing, crankshaft, piston, head, diaphragm, carburetor, exhaust, ignition and tuning.
