Standard primary springs for EGIG Performance primary baskets and street-oriented smallframe setups up to around 30 hp.
The EGIG PERFORMANCE primary springs in standard design are intended for Vespa Smallframe and Ape 50 engines up to around 30 hp. They adjust the damping in the primary cage to powerful, but still clearly road-oriented setups. Compared to an overly hard spring setup, the primary drive remains controlled without becoming unnecessarily stiff. The kit contains 4 standard primary springs and is suitable for engines where a clean primary cage, defined load changes and good suitability for everyday use are paramount.

Why standard primary springs?

The springs in the primary basket dampen load changes between the crankshaft drive, clutch and gearbox. For engines up to around 30 hp, a standard spring setup is often the right choice because it controls the primary drive sufficiently without working unnecessarily hard. This is particularly interesting for road engines that respond cleanly, remain easy to modulate and do not run permanently under maximum load.

For smallframe setups up to around 30 hp

The spring kit is intended for engines in which the primary drive is loaded more heavily than in standard condition, but does not yet require the hard spring configuration for setups over 30 hp. Typical areas of application are powerful street engines, touring setups, sporty everyday engines and cleanly built smallframe engines with a suitable primary cage. The springs do not replace an inspection of the entire primary drive: basket, repkit, pads, clutch, sprocket and bearings must match the performance level.
