The early V50 models mark the entry into the Smallframe series: simple 2-stroke engines, contact-controlled ignition systems and a slim chassis. With the Primavera and ET3, more powerful engines, improved fan wheel geometries and finer gear ratios were added. The PK and PK XL generation rely on more stable swingarms, internal ignition base plates, reinforced transmission components and a revised electrical layout.

Technical features of the Vespa Smallframe models
The Smallframe engines are characterized by compact housings, short intake paths and direct power transmission. The housing shapes differ significantly depending on the year of manufacture, for example in terms of intake design, swingarm mount and clutch cover.
