✅ Prepared for E-starter: can be equipped or sealed
✅ Displacement up to 187 cc possible: with 60 mm long-stroke crankshaft
✅ Plug & Play compatible: with all PX80–PX125 and PX150 crankshafts as well as transmission parts of the 125-200cc PX old models (1982-1984) and the Vespa PX Lusso models (1984-2016)
The housing corresponds to the build state of a PX125/150 without separate lubrication. However, it can also be used without issues in all PX models with oil pump – simply remove the oil tank or seal the lines and mix classically at 1:50.
Thanks to the identical mounting points, the engine housing fits almost all Vespa Largeframe models from 1957 to 2016 – except Cosa. Whether Sprint, Rally, old PX or Lusso: With some expertise, you can not only replace defective old housings but also upgrade older engines to modern components.
For maximum everyday usability and durability, we recommend our BGM gearbox in the PX Lusso build state. It is durable, precisely manufactured, and offers ideal shifting performance – tuned to modern driving conditions. Combined with the appropriate primary ratio, it can be adapted for many setups:
✅ PX125 Standard
✅ 190 cc long-stroke setup (e.g. BGM177)
✅ 221 cc PX200 upgrade with adapter kit
✅ Double sealing of the kickstarter shaft
✅ Clean rotary valve surface – precise sealing
✅ Incl. groove at the shaft seal seat (clutch side)
✅ External shaft seal on the drive shaft
✅ Short sealing surface for the carburetor connection (like PX from ’84)
✅ Casting quality: very clean with flat machined sealing surfaces
✅ CDI holder & fan wheel cover from E-start model required (only when using the E-starter)
✅ Brand new engine housing ready for completion
✅ Pre-mounted silent rubbers
✅ Pre-mounted studs for cylinder, shift pawl, and housing halves
Do you want to install an E-starter? No problem – the holes and threads are prepared. If you want to stay classic, you can cleanly seal the opening in the fan duct with a separate sealing plate (not included).
For a clean rebuild, we offer our high-quality BGM engine revision kits – everything you need is included: bearings, shaft seals, gaskets. For a well-rounded setup on a solid foundation.
Yes! You can simply deactivate the oil pump. Either remove the oil tank or seal the lines – and mix classically at 1:50. Technically, this is no problem.
Yes, except for the Cosa, the housing fits all Largeframes from 1957 to 2016 – even Sprint or Rally. Depending on the model, minor adjustments are necessary.
From approx. year of manufacture 1968, Vespa engines were equipped with needle bearings (B188) on the shift pawl – from then on, the gearbox is plug & play compatible. For PX setups, we recommend the BGM Lusso gearbox.
No. The housing is prepared, but you can simply seal the opening with a sealing plate (not included) if you want to stay classic.
Our tip: BGM engine revision kit + BGM gearbox = proven quality for everyday use and touring. Both can be found in the accessories section.
